Does any engineering college provide scholarships for second year engineering students (Lateral entry)?

There are many private universities and institutions which provide scholarship for newbies as well as for lateral entries but just for an entry in the second year or for you 3rd semester. Also, you will not get any scholarships from any government or autonomous engineering institute of India. For private universities, I would prefer Lovely Professional University, Galgotias University, Chandigarh University, Sharda University, Maharishi Markandeshwar University or else find any private institute. You may refer to the best possible institution nearby you. For admission and scholarship, you must have a good CGPA and a good character background, an active participation in co-curricular and a good score in your 12th class and should have a genuine reason for a lateral entry. Hi, Lateral entry is the one where a student has done his/ her diploma in the same specialization gets direct entry in the third semester or the start of the second year in the college/university. There are many engineering institutes that have provision for students to be eligible to some courses as the lateral entry, provided that they have fulfilled the given conditions. Also, to make sure the student of its skills and knowledge in respective specialization, the universities organize special exams. Following are the colleges that provide lateral entries: Some of the reputed colleges that provide lateral entries and if they some scholarships provided to second or third-year students are: 1: Manipal University: Manipal University has its own examination MUOET and they provide scholarships only through this exam. They also have provision for lateral entry but, sorry they don't provide scholarships in lateral entries. 2: IET India scholarship: IET India scholarship is the one that is provided to second or third-year students on the basis of merit. Lateral entries that join engineering in second or third year are also applicable for this scholarship. The graduation score criteria are 60% if you are evaluated on a percentage basis or a CGPA of 6.5 of your college grades you on the 10 pointer scale. Also, the student should be enrolled in a full-time regular UG Engineering program student from an AICTE/UGC approved institution. Although the application does not bind the applicant to any age limit, the applicant must make sure to have cleared all the regular course credits in a single attempt. Again all the branches of engineering must be approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) or University Grants Commission (UGC). There are two different categories for the scholarship: Women category and General Category. National level winner gets as much as one lakhs rupees and national runner-up is rewarded INR 75,000. All the winners also get a certificate too. Again there are five regions as: 1- Regional South 1: students from Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh 2- Regional South 2: students from Tamil Nadu & Kerala 3- Regional North 4- Regional East + North East 5- Regional West There are two winners from each region also where the winner is rewarded with INR 40,000 and runner up is rewarded with 20,000 INR Again certificate is also provided. Same is applicable for both the categories for award distribution viz. women and general.

There are many engineering colleges that provide lateral entry to the engineering students so that they can be directly admitted in the college from the 2nd year or from 3rd semester but there are only few engineering colleges that provide scholarship for 2nd year engineering students with lateral entry. Eligibility criteria: 1. Student having lateral entry should be from AICTE or UGC approved institution. 2. All regular credit courses must be completed in single attempt by the applicant. 3. Applicant should have scored 60% credits (6 GPA out of 10) and must have more than 60% marks in the board exams. Colleges providing scholarships to 2nd year lateral entry students are as follows: 1. Delhi Technological University is one of the government universities providing lateral entry admissions. It is approved by AICTE. 2. Manipal University of Technology, Karnataka - It is a private university. 3. Netaji Subhash Engineering College, Kolkata - It is and government institute. 4. Jamia Milia Islamia, Delhi is founded by National Islamic Front. Among these entries of colleges I would prefer Delhi Technological University and Manipal University of Technology.
