Hi i want to join Merchant Navy, 10 2 (PCM) please tell me how and which course will suite me and from where.Presently i am in BCA final from IGNOU .but i want to join merchant navy .can i do Deck cadet Job .please please tell me.can there is Computer work in merchant navy
Hi, the Merchant navy comprises Engineers, Radio Officers and Navigators with specialised marine training. 10+2 passed Male & Female candidates with 60% aggregate in Maths, Physics & Chemistry and 50% in English in +2 or 10th standard. T S Chanakya, the government training ship, recruits candidates for B Sc navigation course through the IIT JEE. The MERI selects candidates for marine engineering through the IIT JEE examination. 2) After Class XII (PCM), enrollment with pre-sea training institutes for navigation and engineering courses in the merchant vessels. 3) After Graduate degree in Marine engineering, applying for direct recruitment with a merchant navy shipping firm in the engineering department. The two main training centers are Nautical training ship T S Chanakya: T S Chanakya is affiliated to the University of Bombay as a degree college for conducting a three-year degree course in nautical sciences and the Marine Engineering Research Institute, P-19, Taratolla Road. Headquartered in Calcutta with branch in Mumbai A written examination which consists of an objective type on basic engineering knowledge (class x and xii science), an English essay on current topics, an interview with the selection committee. On clearing the Interview, you will be sent for a Medical Examination which includes a respiratory and cardiovascular check up. Minimum height required is 150 cms with correlated weight and proportionate chest (with minimum 5-cm expansion). For T S Chanakya, normal vision of 6/6 in each eye separately is essential and wearing glasses is not allowed. For MERI glasses are allowed up to plus or minus 2.5. Defective colour vision is disqualification in both cases. Only some training institutes admit female candidates. You can chose the route you want to take for joining the Merchant Navy.
