is the IME Mumbai aproved with aicte or UGC

Cmon guys, IME never did or never will apply to aicte for recognition as distance engg is not recognised by aicte. dont believe me? refer AMIE website where aicte/dec clearly stated in their letters to AMIE that their approval is not required in case of any associate membership exams. These exams from AMIE,IME, IIIE, ICE(I), indian institute of metals etc need to be approved by MHRD which is head of aicte/dec. Institutions exams need to be approved by MHRD, GATE, UPSC, IITs which all of the above institutes have. So IME or AMIE applying to AICTE is absolutely out of context and pure rumour. The institute of Mechanical Engineers, Mumbai offers AICTE approved courses, but the institute is not a University affiliated program and because of which there is no UGC approvals required by this institute.

I have doubt because as per web site AICTE has rcommended for approval but it is not clear or there is no notificaton under which AICTE has approved it. It is better to contact AICTE.
