Now there is no prelims subjects. Instead there is a test called CSAT on the line of Management tests which contains Quant, Reasoning and Verbal. In addition to that there will be a paper on General studies in prelims consisting of History, Geography, economics, Polity, science, Current Affairs etc. Please refer to the website upsc.gov.in for more details of the examination. The prelims for 2012 will be held in June 2012, for which notification will come in the month of December 2011 in Employment News.
