How are the hostels of LPU?

Hi there, Well, I being an alumni as well as an existing student of LPU am eligible to answer your question. I have stayed in LPU-hostels for 4 years and that has been an amazing experience of my life. The environment over there is quite over-whelming and healthy. To the best of my own experience, I feel the life at LPU hostels is happening and mesmerizing. The first and most important thing is that hostels are least distant from the block where classes are conducted. The second thing, you get to utilize library till late night upto 12 AM and during exams upto 2 AM. One gets to participate in inter-hostel cultural activities which are all fun. Moreover the security thing is the best out of everything I have experienced. The rooms are good and wardens are very humble. The water facility is very nice and everything one needs in also available. The departmental store in inside the hostel and remains open till 12 AM. LPU does have timings. In summers, the girls need to reach the hostel by 7:00 pm and in winters, the time changes to 6:00 pm. They enter and exit the hostel after punching their attendance on the turnstile. Within the hostel premises, they have canteens and tuck-shops along with the mess. So, everything of the need is available within the premises. Wardens go to rooms after 7:00 pm, in summers and after 6:00 pm, in winters to take attendance. Apart from this, they have to exit and enter the hostel after marking their attendance on the turnstile. As per rule in the university, girls need to go back to hostels early (till the evening). The university is very strict with this rule. In Summer, the timing for going back to hostels is before 7 PM and in winter, its before 6 PM. Besides the timings, one can not take any non-veg food to the hostel room. If you want to go on an outing, you need to apply online for a leave which sends an SMS alert to your parents number, sometimes for night leaves wardens do talk to parents and ask for permission. I feel one must choose to stay in LPU hostels rather than staying in an outside PG. Hope this helps. Thanks.

I am excited to answer this question as its 1 year I haven't seen my room at LPU, due to Covid lockdown all colleges are shut. LPU has its extremely BIG Campus, first time when I had seen LPU hostel, I was feeling fascinated by looking at the infrastructure of the Campus and on the other hand, I was also feeling very nervous about my life at Campus Hostel but believe me I shouldn't have been because I had an awesome Hostel Life, here some point I want to put up Zero Ragging/ Zero Discrimination: Nobody is ragged at LPU, This word really doesn't exist here at LPU. There is a complete secularism in the LPU hostel life as you will discover seniors and juniors treated similarly at the Campus and even at the Hostel. Thus, there is no division among the students, according their academic year like other campus hostels. Outdoor Games/ Indoor Games/Gym: There are such countless spots at the Campus for open air games and as well as indoor games. Some are campus properties and some are vendor properties (game Zone) for like snooker, bowling, chess, etc. Where you'll have to pay to play.

Very good and clean indeed, with all the amenities that you can think of. You will have Wi-Fi available in each corner. Regarding the cleanliness, your rooms will be cleaned 2-3 times per week by the cleaning staff. Since winters can get a bit chilly here, so they have geysers made available in all the hostel rooms. Each hostel has its own canteen, an ATM machine, and a WHSmith shop for you to buy all the necessary items of the daily needs and stationaries. Also, if you even come across any problem, you can let your warden know or you can just make an RMS request through the LPU app, and the management here will solve that issue for you as soon as possible. Not to forget, the wide variety of options that you get while choosing hostels. From Apartments, 1 Seater, 2 seater to a dormitory, you have all the options available.

Hostels in LPU: Lot of Secure and Safe ecosystem LPU have good university. Hospital with Doctors and Ambulance availability for 24*7 Flexible and pocket friendly Mess menu from North to South Indian dishes, With option of Quitting Mess and having food from 300+ food kiosk You will be able to use Central library at night. Many times during fests, outsiders are not allowed after 6. CCTV cameras and card punching system will locate you anywhere within the Campus. Better exposure to cultural activities, intra hostel competitions etc. Access to sport grounds in case you are a sports freak No hassle of cooking your own food. Cons of Hostel life can be considered as Pros of PG Life, which comes with its own degree of Freedom: Alcohol, tobacco products and non vegetarian food is strictly not allowed. Late entry after 8 is allowed but the guards will inform the concerned hostel warden who in turn will call your parents. Limited food options from kiosks or hostel mess. If you are a girl, then you have to enter the hostel at 6 pm every day. If you are a girl, you must have permission from your parents while moving out of the University premises. Healthcare facility may be of a concern as limited number of doctors and specialists are present. A visiting family member or friend is not allowed to stay in your room. You will have to book a room either outside or in the university hotel. You will have to share room with someone you don't know. Sometimes they may exaggerate your electricity bills. The guards will infringe upon your privacy on certain occasions.

I can answer you well as my cousion is studying at LPU She told me LPUs residential Facilities are indeed exceptionally well organised and maintained. The hostel administration here is very cooperative and caring. When it comes to Home like Healthy stay LPUs residential Facilities are Number 1. Facilities at hostels: 1. Separate residential facility for boys and girls within the campus 2. Rooms with attached washroom, B.Ed (without mattress), table, chair and almirahs except in certain dormitory rooms. 3. Air cooler / Air Conditioner (with attached washroom) facility in each room (as opted) i4. Arrangement for power supply through dedicated 24 hours hotlines 5. Geyser in each room to provide hot water in winters (scheduled timings) for two hours per room every day or as decided by the University. 6. In-campus Hospital with ambulance to provide medical assistance to students 7. Internet connectivity through Wi-Fi system for scheduled timing for academic purposes only and subject to conditions. 8. Power backup for light load only (not for AC/Geyser/Air cooler). 9. Mess facility available. 10. Parking two wheeler/car facility at designated places only. 11. Gymnasium (optional on payment basis) XII. Students in residential facility are permitted to keep Electrical Kettles, Electrical Irons, Laptop, Mobile Charger, Shaving Set, Trimmer, Hair Straightener and Hair Dryer. Extra electricity bill due to the usage of these electrical items will be borne by the occupants of the room Hope this information helps.

Hostels are very costly like 4 seater room with cooler cost about INR. 50,000 per head. There is Sofa for four people. They are charging INR. 2 lacs per room, which contains three fans for Almirah and one private washroom that's it.

Hostels at LPU are the largest student accommodation in India. More than 25000 students live in the fully equipped hostels. There are many options to choose from as per your convenience and budget. From single seat apartments to shared rooms to dormitories. LPU believes in nurturing its students in a safe environment so that the students feels at home away from home. Utmost care is taken for the security of the students. The security officials/guards are there at a distance of 100 m for the security of the students. LPU has all the facilities like mall, game zone, roller skates zone, indoor stadium etc. The University has its very own fire station department. LPU also has Turnstile gates at major entry/exit points as well as boom barriers for vehicles ensuring that every movement is monitored. There is a very good indoor sports stadium with all games and equipment. The Department of Students Affairs keeps the campus buzzing with so many activities that a student keenly waits for such events. Department organizes many fun filled activities in the evening in the campus. Many celebrities too give great performances which are enjoyed after classes. Hostel has got all the amenities like B.Ed almirah, study table etc. All the facilities to cater to an active life of a student is provided. Hello, I myself being a hostler here in Lovely Professional University, can say that hostel life in LPU is pretty amazing. As I have stayed in hostels earlier, I am very much impressed with the facilities that we get here in LPU. To me the infrastructure plays an important role, so the environment, the surroundings that I get in here are peaceful. There are 6 hostel blocks for girls. 1, 2,3 and 4 blocks are attached, and are like a mini society in itself. We have a wonderful garden along with two basketball courts. There are 23 open gym under the hostel. Along with that, there are parlors for personal grooming. Canteens to have variety of cuisines, and mess for all who have opted for mess at the starting of the semester. The hostel life here is secure and safe. Some may feel the hostel timings are too strict but that is actually to maintain discipline in the university, which not only helps now but will help in inculcating discipline in life in future. The separate hostels for boys and girls and canteens and mess that are seperate for both. The campus area around the hostel is pretty homely and the rooms too are comfortable. The apartment-style area for living with a shared lounge and bathroom makes it easy for students to live in. TV area, laundry, and Wi-Fi facility at all times give an edge to the hostels of LPU. The hostels are spacious and provide a home away from home experience. There are separate buildings for boys and girls and canteens and mess where the entire hostel family dines together. TV area and the sports facilities are all there. Zero Ragging/ Zero Discrimination: Nobody is ragged at LPU, This word actually doesn't exist here. There is complete secularism in the LPU hostel life as you will find seniors and juniors treated similarly at the Campus and even at the Hostel Outdoor Games/ Indoor Games/Gym: There are so many places at Campus for outdoor games and as well as indoor games. Hello there, well I have been a student of PU since 2019 and I took hostel, I can share my experience. Well. Living in a hostel is one of the most important part of any student life, while when I was in LPU hostel, I was expecting my hostel would be like shown in movies or web series, well it was completely0 opposite, completely hygienic, really good mess food, unlike shown in web series and movies, in fact, facilities provided in LPU hostel is unlimited. My parents very much concerned about my security and everything, so let me tell you that the LPU hostel is Completely secured and guarded. 24/7 electricity and water supply, canteen, atm, open gyms, saloons, beautiful lush green garden, laundry facilities, even for room cleaning maid aunty used to come. So, I personally feel that the LPU hostel is really great because of the facilities and comfort.

Dear Ritika, I have spent 2 years of my life in the hostel of LPU while my post-graduation. I really miss my hostel life as I have a lot of memories of hostel life. I can tell you about the hostel details of LPU. All facilitates are provided at the Campus Hostel and you'll have the complete choice to choose the accommodation that suits you and your budget. Zero Ragging/ Zero Discrimination: Nobody is ragged at LPU, This word actually doesn't exist here. There is complete secularism in the LPU hostel life as you will find seniors and juniors treated similarly at the Campus and even at the Hostel. So, there is no division among the students as per their academic year like other campus hostels. Students from the various ends of the country/ neighboring countries come and join LPU and live in the same Hostel without any discrimination. Food/ Mess: Honestly I won't lie about the mess at the campus, because I myself took food for the first 6 months at the hostel mess until I explored other good places but there are so many people who actually like a mess. If you're one of them very good and if not then fab you're in my gang so, you don't have to worry at all about the food at LPU because there are like 358+ shops inside the campus providing all varieties of food from continental to south Indian and that too at very mediocre rates. Some days if you don't feel like going out you can even order at Dominoes, go to CCD, Mall, etc. Food is not at all a problem at LPU. Outdoor Games/ Indoor Games/Gym: There are so many places at Campus for outdoor games and as well as indoor games. Some are campus properties and some are vendor properties (game parlors) where you'll have to pay to play. Everything is fun wherever you fit in yourself.
