8 years agoIndian Institute of Technology, Madras has been ranked 1st by National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF). NIRF uses all the parameters like placement, infrastructure, research, etc., to rank a college. Now, if we talk about the overall placement, it's pretty awesome. A total of 1206 students registered for placement drive and 725 students got placed taking the overall placement percentage to 70.18.
In Computer science and engineering branch, 120 students registered and 95 got placed. The highest salary offered last year was 84.32 lakhs per annum and lowest salary offered was 3 lakhs per annum.

IIT Madras is one of the well reputed institutions in India and one of the old iits. So it attracts lots of good companies for placements and the statistics are pretty good as such.
For 2016 for CSE engineering 20 students registered for placements out of which 20 were placed (BE). The percentage of students placed was 100 percent as such.
The packages offered for CSE Engineering students were in the range between 3 LPA to 84.32 LPA. The average package was above 10 LPA (approx.).
