    Indian Institute of Technology-Madras is one of the best government colleges in India and it ranks in top 5 colleges of India.
    Placements of B.Tech in electrical engineering from IIT-Madras is very good as many of the core companies related to electrical engineering comes for the placements.
    It is all the work of placement cell of IIT-Madras which attracts many large companies or major companies of India and abroad.

    IIT, Madras has one of the best placement records in India, with packages ranging from Rs 7.9 lakh per annum (average package) to Rs 1.83 crore, which is the highest package offered there, yet.

    Electrical engineering in IIT, Madras is quite different from the scientific culture for which IIT, Madras is known for. The placement scenario is good and sometimes become exceptional when it comes to big corporates recruiting inside the campus.
    When it comes to statics the average placements is around Rs 15 to Rs 17 lakhs. The lowest is Rs 9 lakhs and highest is around Rs 50 lakhs per annum.The core part of electrical engineering constitutes the deep knowledge and research which forms the ethical scenario of IIT, Madras.

    IIT Madras is one of the reputed institutions in India and one of the old IITs. So it attracts lots of good companies for placements and the statistics are pretty good as such.
    For 2016 for Electrical and Electronics Engineering, 46 students registered for placements out of which 42 were placed (BE). The percentage of students placed was 91.30% as such.

    Electrical engineering is the main branch of the engineering along with mechanical and computer science as it is one of the most demanding branches in the field of engineering. IIT, Madras is the most premium institute in terms of placement, exposure, faculty, infrastructure and other research-driven facilities. So talking about placement packages are not very high for electrical engineering initially but as you will gain experience in your field in the handling of the complex situation then you will grow.

For IIT Madras summer internships, a candidate must fulfill the following criteria:

  • Working Professionals are not eligible to apply for internships
  • Students must pursue the IITM BSc Degree without other commitments (on-campus degree or full-time job)
  • Students will have to fulfill training requirements before they apply for internships.
  • Students should have completed 4 courses + 2 course projects at the Diploma level.
  • Students will be allowed to apply once they complete at least one Diploma course.
  • Non-refundable Registration fees of INR 1,800 (incl GST) must be submitted
