How are the placements of B.Tech in engineering physics in IIT, Roorkee?

IIT, Roorkee has the best placement in the department of engineering physics compared to any other IIT in India. If placement is what you want then IIT, Roorkee provides you with a with a high paying job and sometimes in an MNC. Based on the placement report of 2015 IIT, Roorkee marks an average placement package of Rs 8.5 lakhs and highest being Rs 17 lakhs in engineering physics department. The only problem with this field is that they are not many core companies visiting the campus for this branch and so most of the students end up taking placements in marketing, data analytics, banking sectors provided they keep a good knowledge about the relative field. Also, students from engineering physics in any IIT have equal chances of getting jobs in the number of IT companies that was it the campus during the placement season. The IIT, Roorkee is working very well to produce the most skilled and acceptable engineers worldwide. The motivation and determination are not only in their slogans but also reflects in their work. Engineering physics is a very nice branch in terms for application in the modern world and for those who have thorough interest in that. When it comes to placements these branch finds very less corporates opportunities in big global brands but finds wide application in research. Most of the engineering physics undergraduates go for higher studies in the IITs or in the foreign universities and then become professors in the elite institutions which secure their future and they start to get a good salary as compared to that offered in placement drives. While talking of the past data of placement for the respective branch, the average placement is about Rs 5 lakhs and the highest is around Rs 12 lakhs with an exceptional and skilled mind. IIT-Roorkee is one of the well-reputed institutions in India and is one of the old IITs. So, it attracts a lot of good companies for placements and the statistics are pretty good as such. For engineering physics, you need to understand that most of the people join it for research purpose (they generally opt for higher studies) rather than placements. For the year 2016-17, 33% of the total students from engineering physics were placed. The roles were mostly research-based with a few students opting for non-core placements. The salary would be around 6-8 LPA (approx). So, the overall scenario looks good. But I would like to tell you that engineering physics is not a field you join for placements. Join only if you are passionate about physics and want to do research further. But it doesn't mean you cannot get jobs through this field. Just evaluate all the available options before making a decision. All the best!

Indian Institute of Technology-Roorkee is one of the best government colleges in India and it ranks in top 5 colleges of India. Placements of B.Tech in engineering physics from IIT-Roorkee is very good as many of the core companies related to engineering physics comes to the placements. It is all the work of placement cell of IIT Roorkee which attracts many large companies or major companies of India and of abroad. It also provides the most important thing required nowadays is hands-on experience what practical knowledge with theoretical knowledge which helps in getting good placement. IIT-Roorkee is known for its infrastructure and knowledgeable faculties with about 5 to 10 years of experience teaching in college. Facilities provided by the college are really good like Wi-Fi Sports Complex and labs with better equipment and machines. There are many local and foreign companies that come for the placement of engineering physics. Most of the students of engineering physics are placed into non-core companies like TCS, Accenture or any oil company, etc. Average salary provided to the students of engineering physics is about 5-6 lakh per annum. It usually changes every year, but it always stays in top ten in terms of placement each year. IIT-Roorkee is IIT, and it can't be compared in terms of placement.

IIT Roorkee is almost good for placement among IIT but could be placed on no.1 if you see it removing IITs means among all private or government engineering college.

All top companies like google, Microsoft, amazon, Mahindra & Mahindra, TATA Motors, Honda visit the college campus. There some universities and college also recruit for the teaching field. Placements in our college are good, starting from 1st of December and continues till end of the semester. Departments like computer science, and electronics have 100 percent placements whereas departments like mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and engineering physics have more than 70 percent placements. Average CTC of physics engineering department is around 8 lakhs per annum. ALUMNI College has a great history. It was founded in 1857. So, the network of alumni of the college is very strong. They are helpful. They bring many companies to colleges for placements and internship. Also, provide major contributions for placements assistance.
