    IIT, Guwahati has a dedicated training and placement cell which manages to invite and attract a large number of companies mostly IT companies but that is seen in every engineering college these days.

    Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati is one of the best government colleges in India and it ranks in top 5 colleges of India.
    Placements of B.Tech in mechanical engineering from IIT Guwahati is very good as many of the core companies related to mechanical engineering comes to the placements.
    It is all the work of placement cell of IIT Guwahati which attracts many large companies or major companies of India and of abroad.

    IITs are the premier engineering institutes. IIT-Guwahati is one of the old IITs and lakhs of students try to get admission here every year. According to the National Institute Ranking Framework, IIT-Guwahati ranks 7th among all engineering colleges in India which is a pretty good rank.
    Mechanical Engineering at IIT-Guwahati is pretty good.
    For Mechanical Engineering, in 2015 out of 76 students who applied to placements from the Mechanical department, 57 students were placed meaning 68 percent placement for Mechanical which is an okayish impressive number.
