IIT Roorkee is one of the old IITs and one of the well-reputed institutes in India, so you don't have to worry about placements.
Let's go through its placement report of 2016-17 for mechanical engineering.
The total percentage of placed students from mechanical is around 62% (this is low because the calculations also included the people who opted out of placements for higher studies or some other reasons. If we neglect those students it will be above 90%).
