Qualifying for IAS means you need to clear the prelims and then the Mians exam and then also the Interview. One of the tested methods for this is to join a coaching class / study centre which will pin-pointedly tell you what is to be studies and how it is to be studied. Choosing the subjects for the UPSC exam is equally important. Reading as much as possible and retaining the knowledge / information is very necessary. Try to make a habit of reading newspapers regularly. Discuss with fellow students and take up mock exercises to know your speed of answering questions.

there is no excuse for being an average student and for all employment ,the general criterion is proficiency,a job is not created for giving salary and it is the duty of the student to become suitable for salary.so, make a big march from the state of averageness and become eligible for it.
