    Hi,
In order to prepare yourself for the general awareness section, keep yourself updated with all the current affairs through regular newspaper reading. Hindu and Economic Times are the most recommended newspapers to improve your current affairs and vocabulary. There are many online websites where they give you mock test samples on the current affairs. This will also help you to remain updated. Read about the current topics of discussions such as GST, demonetization, current developments in India, cryptocurrency and Bullet train project. Also, read about famous personalities. If you are writing MAT, you need not worry too much about t

You can start reading newspaper on daily basis. Keep yourself updated with the current affairs. Look for the common trends happening in the market and industry. You can use mobile applications like mint or in shorts to keep you updated in real time. Plus they come in very handy as you can save/bookmark certain news or article which you can read afterwards. Do the full forms of many abbreviations which are asked in the entrance exams. Preparing for general awareness would not only help you in exams but also at the time of admission processes. As a lot of emphasis is given on your general awareness in GD/PI processes conducted by college

For this early habits should be developed. You can't start one month before exam. It would all be in vain. Generally develop a habit of reading newspapers as early as possible. It will be good if you read newspapers like The Hindu or The Indian Express as these cover sensible news unlike Times of India and it will also help you in improving your English.
Generally read the newspaper thoroughly and try to develop your own opinion on the issues. It will be helpful for WATs for IIMs.
You can use websites which have quizzes on current affairs. But don't waste too much time on it. Focus on your main preparation properly.
    So in short, read new

Preparation can be three types: Self, self plus coaching and coaching.
It depends whether you are working or a student. So if you are working you have to prepare either by self-using the correspondence booklets or you can take option of taking weekend coaching classes or you can buy some famous books used for preparation of MBA entrance exams. But if you are a student then you have good amount of time to prepare so you can use the correspondence courses and books initially for self-preparation and later can join coaching classes for brushing up your preparation with added techniques. For the purpose of preparing for this section, there is no particular method. You have to keep yourself up to date as to whats happening around you and be aware of the current affairs, whether National or International. Best way to prepare for general awareness is by regularly reading newspapers, political and business magazines. Preparing for general awareness section is not an overnight activity, it is a process. General knowledge and awareness need to be built in course of time. To improve general knowledge for written exam as well as the GD/PIs keep a close watch on the major political, corporate, sports, economy, national-internat
