How is an MBA in field operations or SCM beneficial for an engineer's career?

MBA in operation and supply chain management will help engineering students for no doubt. The job opportunities are very vast and large number of companies hire candidates with this qualifications. Operation as whole, depends on how they manage the whole production of the company with efficiency and supply chain management, related to how the movement of goods and services take place inside a company. The engineering students, even after completing their B.Tech or BE course will go for production or R&D functions in an organization. For better salary, doing MBA in operation and SCM will benefit the student in a better way. The salary ranges from 11 lakhs on an average, which is very good as compared to HR and finance. So, I suggest you to take operations and SCM as specialization while doing your MBA.

In Supply chain management, it involves procurement, manufacturing, inventory control, transportation, logistics etc. In operation Management it involves Supply chain management, manufacturing science, etc. So, both are technology sound. Subject and engineering background can be able to cope with more sound knowledge of the background and if you are an engineer, you are sounder to the subjects like:- Manufacturing Thermodynamics Kinetic Processing Production So, these are the main aspect of the Supply chain. So, if you already know about the main subjects, you will be able to understand them easily. Manager Operation manager Executive The salary ranges from about 5 lakh to about 10 lakh per annum in the beginning and can grow up to highest level.
