Hi It would be a good choice to opt for LPU as in the present scenario this is the university which caters to the all-round development of its students and nurtures it with care to boost the career to a pinnacle of ultimate success which might be the envy of many. LPU is the only private university which has been accredited by ICAR. It has set certain standards and for this FEAT it has received many accolades. It offers the best academics and gives the best labs, faculty, platform, exposure etc. So that the students can become a success. LPU understands the importance of uninterrupted education and so offers scholarships for the sectors, on the marks qualified, national level award, defense, sports, etc. It has also moved forward to aid education at such grim times by offering financial assistance in the form of covid scholarships. As all exams have not been conducted as per schedule, hence LPU again has come forward to assist the students. This programme at LPU equips students with all-round knowledge of sector and normally includes the following: Agronomy: Basics of Agronomy, Kharif and Rabi Crop, Crop Protection, Weed Management, Irrigation Techniques, Water Resource Management, Organic Farming, Sustainable Agriculture. LPU has Hons programme in same as B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture, which is a 4 year course in total. Eligibility for the same is Pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 or Intermediate (with English, Physics, Chemistry and Maths or Biology or Forestry) or 10+2 or Intermediate (Agriculture) or 2 years Diploma in Agriculture after 10th or equivalent. Dear Preeti, As per the website of Doon university, It is not curating Agriculture programs, as it is not ICAR accredited. As far as LPU is concerned, it provides exposure to the industry, efficient and knowledgeable faculty, flexible curriculum and teaching pedagogues, Placements, Scholarships, infrastructure, and diverse culture make LPU incomparable. It is one of the best programs in LPU having wonderful placements. Most of our students get placed in reputed companies with a few opting for higher studies and entrepreneurship. I would like to name a few companies that visit LPU- Nestle, VLCC Health Care, HDFC, Rallis India, SYNGENTA INDIA LTD, WIPRO LIMITED Special inputs in the form of placement classes are given to students to hone their skills and prepare them for placements. Students also go for on-job training (OJT) where they are paid stipend too. LPU has highly qualified faculty from Top agriculture institutes and universities from India and Abroad etc. While PAU has a heritage and log history as its strength, LPU has a fresh energy, massive resources be it in hardware or software of human which make it a strong competitor. Agriculture students are offered ample practical exposure as the university is having special fields and farms. Students also get a chance to sell their produce on organic shop of the university so they get the opportunity to earn while they learn. I will advice you to identify the university which is ICAR recognised. Now, addressing your query of comparison, I checked the website of Doon where I didn't find any agriculture course in their basket whereas LPU is the first private university which has got ICAR accreditation last year. LPU is renowned private university with more than 30,000 students and experienced faculty from various institutes and offering more than 250 courses wherein B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture is one such course. Placements in Agriculture are good with VLCC Healthcare Ltd. , Ankur Seeds, HDFC, Dhanuka Agritech Ltd. , Ebro India Pvt. LPU has been awarded by many outer agencies for Placements. #The International exposure and Credit Transfer programme. LPU has many valuable Global Tie-ups with foreign universities. #Unity in Diversity, LPU has more than 30000 students from about 70 countries, what an experience it would be to study among National and International students. #The only university in INDIA to be visited by the #PRESIDENT OF INDIA #PRIME MINISTER OF INDIA #VICE PRESIDENT OF INDIA #FINANCE MINISTER OF INDIA #MAURITIUS PRESIDENT #THE DALAI LAMA, etc. And so on, these aspects really combine to create a strong profile of the students to get placed. Hope this could be enough to get you know that DOON University will definitely take long time to chase LPU. Now, it is a matter to SEE that Either this will happen or Doon university will be stagnant as good as they are in their own territory.
