How is LPU for B.Arch?

Architecture is the art and Science of designing buildings and other physical structures. A wider definition often includes the design of the total built environment from the macro level of town planning, urban design, and landscape architecture to the micro level of construction details and, sometimes, furniture. Being an alumni I would like to share certain some key insights related with architecture Programme; Eligibility: Pass with 50% aggregate marks in 10+2 with English Physics Chemistry and Mathematics and pass with 50% aggregate marks in Physics Chemistry and Mathematics or Pass with 50% in Diploma (any stream) (3 years) recognised by Central/ State government. (with Mathematics) or equivalent, subject to qualifying marks in NATA 2021 or JEE Main (Paper II) or qualifying marks in any specially designed aptitude test in Architecture conducted by the competent authority of the Central/ State Governments (as/if allowed by statutory body for 2021-22) The following are the Basic programme outcomes : PO1 : Design Thinking and development : Apply various methods to assess, analyze and propose design scheme for built environment typologies. PO2 : Skill development : Interpret document and present in graphic form all elements of building design manually as well as digitally. PO3 : Modern tool usage : Apply and integrate various software applications in design process. PO4 : Technical know-how : Analyze evolution of human habitat, various materials, techniques and technologies, its influence through ages. PO5 : Legal Compliance : Apply knowledge of legal and regulatory framework and codes of practice in establishing and managing organizations. Highlights of the Programme : 1)Approved by COA (Council of Architecture, New Delhi) for Indian Applicants only. 2)Approved NATA Test Centre at our campus. Credit Transfer Student after successful completion of 2 years. At LPU may be given option to join partner/ receiving university abroad for the completion of programme subject to conditions and norms of regulatory bodies. For requisites and other clauses. International Exposure Option Student may be given an option to go for 4 weeks study tour to USA/ European countries or any other country as decided by the University subject to conditions. Student may be given an option to join partner/ receiving university abroad for a semester.

Being a alumni of LPU, I would say LPU is amongst the Top 5 School of Architecture, Design and Planning disciplines in India and the top 100 schools globally by 2025 by becoming a Center of design excellence in Academics, Consultancy and Research. LPU School of Architecture and Design is among Punjab's best colleges and ranked among top ten promising architecture institutes of India by Higher Education Review. LPU trains its students to become lateral thinkers by focusing on the critical design approach. With exposure to an international environment, access to the latest tools, software and technology, students become architects that create buildings and infrastructure that are globally acknowledged. One of my friend told me students documented the buildings and learning from Live Case Examples during experiential learning week. Students paying the regular site visits and gaining their knowledge on the latest construction techniques and implement into their design projects. Students are taken to educational tours to complement in-class learning. Emphasis on case studies and Case-based teaching to develop skills in analytical thinking and reflective judgment by reading and discussing complex, real-life scenarios. World Renowned Architect B. V. Doshi is one of the most important figures in South Indian Architecture. LPU Students got the chance to interact at his working abode in Sangath, Ahmedabad. Architecture Students documented the buildings and learning from Live Case Examples during experiential learning week. LPU students B.Arch got placed with a package of INR 4.5 Lacs annually in Total Environment, Bangalore an Indian architect-led real estate and design company known for sensitively designed homes, microbrewery and jazz theatre. Some of them are working as an Architect in Design Forum International, Delhi. The firm is known for various projects like Select Citywalk, Delhi and Solar Tower, South Africa. The firm has won various awards for its projects. Completed their internships from Spain, Germany, Dubai and London. A B.Arch student got placed at CP Kukreja Architects, New Delhi which is among st top 100 Architectural Firms in the World. The placements at LPU keep getting better despite the ever-growing reigns of the pandemic, while the other institutions are still shaken by the soaring effects of the coronavirus outbreak.

I have done my Graduation from LPU and there were a lot of projects which I have done with B.Arch students even we have managed lots of events together and as per their feedback and experience, LPU is one of the best places for B.Arch. Lpu is better in all the aspects like teaching, curriculum, infrastructure, experience, placements etc. The architecture programme of lpu is approved by the agency of COA. Lpu provides the best academic exposure to it's students. The world-class infrastructure is congenial for the study of architecture. Many workshops and seminars are conducted by industry experts as LPU believes in experiential learning. Students are exposed to real site situations through in-house and external visits for visual orientation. Emphasis is given on the Entrepreneurship projects/Consultancy projects which give a cutting edge to the students of the University. So, I can definitely say that lpu provides a better learning experience and opportunities. Talking about the placements companies like Al Rakha Group, Green Vision Architects, AKTC-Aga Khan Trust for Culture (Afghanistan), Capital region Development Authority (Kabul), Total Environment Builders, Wagma Designs etc. Visit here for recruitment purposes. Akaash, Arka, LPU is one of the best universities in the country with world class infrastructure, modern facilities and highly qualified faculty from IITs, IIITs, NITs, etc. The university is having tie ups with many foreign universities and reputed companies thus facilitating higher education abroad and good placements respectively for their students. Many workshops, conferences, seminars etc are organised for students so that they can interact with who is who of Architecture world like Raj Rewal etc. Students along with the faculty work on various live projects wherein they have worked on some sites around the university and so on. These things make LPU the first choice of both national and international students.

Dear Akaash, As per the best of my knowledge, B.Arch is a good choice to do at LPU. My friend is pursuing the same course. The Eligibility Criteria (Qualifying Exam) for B.Arch is Pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 with English and also 60% marks in Physics Chemistry and Mathematics or Pass with 60% in Diploma (any stream) (3 years) recognised by Central/ State government. (with Mathematics) or equivalent, subject to qualifying marks in NATA 2021 or JEE Main (Paper-II) (90 percentile or above) or qualifying marks in any specially designed aptitude test in Architecture conducted by the competent authority of the Central/ State Governments (as/ if allowed by the statutory body for 2021-22).
