How is the faculty and infrastructure of Lovely Professional University for B.Arch?

B.Arch at LPU is a good choice based on my own personal experience. LPU is amongst the Top 5 School of Architecture, Design and Planning disciplines in India and the top 100 schools globally by 2025 by becoming a Centre of design excellence in Academics, Consultancy and Research. In the programme, innovative teaching practices are adopted. One such practice is called Experiential learning week which is organized every semester in which students are taken to nearby historic and construction sites and are given live case studies to do. Educational field visits proposed to understand different architectural styles. Mughal Architecture, Sikh Architecture, South Architectural style. There is a rich culture of internships for final year students who go for very challenging and top placements nationally as well as internationally through department. The department is actively working to arrange internships by making a cluster of architectural and consultant firms with them. Most importantly they are recognised by the Council of Architecture (COA). Their curriculum comprises of Live Projects, Study tour to overseas projects, they follow collaborative learning with Industries. Well there are three things that comes to my mind when it comes to LPU faculty 1. Experienced 2. Well learnt 3. Ever ready to help Highly experienced faculty mostly with industry exposure engaged in consultancy and research to add immense value to academic life. In design studios, the professors encourage students to take challenging and practical design problems. LPU comprises more than 20 schools that provide 200 plus programs in engineering, technology, management, pharmacy, social Science, hotel management having an extra edge in curriculum and facilities with the best staff and faculty.

Being an alumni I would like to share certain some key insights related with architecture Programme; Eligibility: Pass with 50% aggregate marks in 10+2 with English Physics Chemistry and Mathematics and pass with 50% aggregate marks in Physics Chemistry and Mathematics or Pass with 50% in Diploma (any stream) (3 years) recognised by Central/ State government. (with Mathematics) or equivalent, subject to qualifying marks in NATA 2021 or JEE Main (Paper II) or qualifying marks in any specially designed aptitude test in Architecture conducted by the competent authority of the Central/ State Governments (as/if allowed by statutory body for 2021-22) The following are the Basic programme outcomes : PO1 : Design Thinking and development : Apply various methods to assess, analyze and propose design scheme for built environment typologies. PO2 : Skill development : Interpret document and present in graphic form all elements of building design manually as well as digitally. PO3 : Modern tool usage : Apply and integrate various software applications in design process. PO4 : Technical know-how : Analyze evolution of human habitat, various materials, techniques and technologies, its influence through ages. PO5 : Legal Compliance : Apply knowledge of legal and regulatory framework and codes of practice in establishing and managing organizations. Highlights of the Programme : 1)Approved by COA (Council of Architecture, New Delhi) for Indian Applicants only. 2)Approved NATA Test Centre at our campus. Credit Transfer Student after successful completion of 2 years. At LPU may be given option to join partner/ receiving university abroad for the completion of programme subject to conditions and norms of regulatory bodies. For requisites and other clauses.
