How is the Hostel life for Girls in LPU?

A safe & Secured Residential Facility (Accommodation) with excellent infrastructure benefits is one of the criteria behind the selection of a Good University. Security of Girls is taken care of in a more controlled & strict way in Lovely Professional University. Few features are mentioned below for reference, 1) Woman security guards are only there to take care of the Girls' hostel. 2) Each & every hostel is free from illegal substances like tobacco, alcohol, etc. 3) Girls who want to study in the Central library at night are allotted 2 hrs. Of time and will be accompanied by guards to the library and back from the library to their respective hostels. 4) Hostellers (Girls) are not allowed to go outside the university at any given point of time, to go outside the university, permission from parents is taken to provide them with the GATE pass. 5) The university is secured completely with high walls, barbed wires, security guards, and CCTVs so no loopholes where they can sneak from. 6) Girls have to enter their specific hostels in a specified time duration 7 pm, and they cannot come out of the hostels as boys are allowed to roam the university till night. 7) NO OUTSIDERS is allowed in the university without a GATE pass. Meaning even if parents of students come for visit, they have the access to university through GATE pass only. 8) Any publicly offensive acts are clearly not allowed in the university and strict actions are taken against such acts. 9) No boys are allowed to enter the girls' hostel at any point in time. If girls enter after the time they are asked to list their name in the late entry register, which is further asked by the wardens during attendance, which is taken regularly. Though there are many restrictions you can observe from the above-mentioned points for the hosteller girls but believe me at the end of the day you will find it necessary for all your security & safety. LPU has the largest residential capacity in the world. In order to ensure proper safety and security of the children. The university is committed to zero tolerance to ragging, alcohol, smoking, drugs and disciplinary misconduct. Automated turnstile gates with biometric machines regulate entry & exit to residential facility. LPU has a set of rules regarding hostel life and its facilities. LPU provides convenience to your doorstep but expects proper adhering to their discipline structure and code of conduct. 0% Ragging, 0% tolerance to any illegal substances like alcohol, drugs etc. Strict actioned used to be taken against the defaulters in case non-adherence of such rules. LPU is very strict when it comes to Safety & Security, and specially when it is about Girl Students there is simply no stone left unturn:- 1. Being an alumni I must say that it is the most secured campus. There are several benefits that can be enjoyed like :Sports facility is being introduced with membership of 3 different packages of games:SwimmingShootingSquash, Badminton, Volleyball, Basketball and Combative sports. Students can join all these memberships on a yearly basis. The campus has a 24 hours 30 B.Ed hospital which is staffed with resident medical officers, medical lab, dieticians and physiotherapists. In house laundry services are available at a nominal charges to students. Keeping student's requirements in mind, University offers quality residence (offering above average necessities) for their living comforts. Become independent! Students residing in the campus can earn while studying by taking up part time jobs in labs, library, sales, shopping mall etc. Become independent! Students residing in the campus can earn while studying by taking up part time jobs in labs, library, sales, All residential facilities have dining halls that provide good quality and hygienic food four times a day. Over 1 Lacs meals are prepared each day!shopping mall etc. LPU offers a huge Library System with 11 branches.

The priority of a university for girls is their security. There is a huge army of security guards deployed at various checkpoints of the hostels. The girls' hostels are guarded by female security guards only. The campus is ragging-free, tobacco-free, and drug-free so there is no need to fear. The Girls who want to study in the Central library at night are allotted 2 hrs. Of time and are accompanied by guards to the library and back from the library to their respective hostels. Resident girl students are not allowed to go outside the university at any given point in time. They have to seek permission from the university and the university informs their parents about their leaves and moves. No one can breach the security of the hostel as neither are the boys allowed to enter the girls' hostel nor the walls of the hostel can be climbed as they are very high. Girls are not allowed to roam around the hostel till late at night. No outsiders are allowed. Even the parents have to get a GATE pass to enter the university premises. Strict disciplinary actions are taken against those who indulge in indiscipline. This does give a feeling of prison as the students say in JEST but it's for their safety. This is the reason why we don't come across any untoward incidents. Ty of Girls. There is a huge list of dos and don't for girls but whatever it is, it is for their safety.

Hi Sameeksha, the girls are well protected inside the hostels. Neither parents nor the female students need to worry about the safety. The hostels of LPU are most comfortable and damn strict. There is no compromise when it comes to the security of the students. LPU residential facilities are as state of the art as the campus is. There is round-the-clock vigil through security cameras and there is a huge army of security personnel deployed all over the university. The campus is ragging-free, drug-free and tobacco-free. The girls' and boys' hostels are located at a distance. The walls of the hostels are high enough that None can cross. Nobody can enter the girls hostel without permission even the parents can stay only in the university guest house. The female guards are deployed in the girls' hostels. There are female security guards who look after the security of the girls' hostel. The Girls who want to study in the Central library at night are allotted 2 hrs. Of time and are accompanied by guards to the library and back from the library to their respective hostels. Girls are not allowed to roam around the hostel till late at night. They need to be inside the hostel by 6.00 pm. LPU has a hostel from 1 seater to 6 Seater including the AC and Non AC. To maintain cleanliness, rooms are cleaned about 23 times per week. The room has an Air Conditioner, attached washroom, and Geyser in each room. Wooden Box B.Ed Study Table, Chair and Almirah. Students have to seek permission to use electrical gadgets having maximum load upto 5 ampere per apartment. One and two Seater apartments have attached lobby and kitchenette. There is an electricity backup and water supply. In addition to it, staff assistance and medical service (Medicines and tests On Payment). Study Room, TV Room, Lift Facility, Fire Fighting System, Purified Water Facility, Maintenance Services, Wi-Fi Service, Free Electricity Units (As Applicable). There is 24 Hrs. Electricity backup Water Supply, and services available. From ala care to regional mess, the LPU hostel has all. It has North Indian, South Indian, Rajasthan and many other regional messes. A student can choose the food as per his or her taste. The quality of food is good. Parathas, Butter, Curd, Milk, Tea is served at breakfast. In lunch Dry Vegetables, Dal, any Gravy item, Rice, Chapati and Raita are served. The dinner Chapati, Seasonal Vegetables, Rice and Desserts.

LPU has fully secured student residence facility. The separate hotel facility is provided to boys and girls. The hostels are offered to students on a sharing basis (two or three mostly) and single basis (as per the needs of students subject to availability). Girls have to enter their specific hostels in specified time duration 7 pm, and they cannot come out the hostels as boys are allowed to roam the university till night. NO OUTSIDERS is allowed in the university without a GATE pass.

Lovely Professional university is a private university situated near phagwara, Punjab. The university is established in 2005. The university campus spreads over 600 acres in boundary on the outskirts of Jalandhar and houses over 30,000 student. There are hostel timings in the evening eg 6:00pm for entry till which you have to enter or a call will be given to parents that your ward is late. There is a time period for library which is upto 12 mid night I guess. Guards escort girls to the library as it is outside of the hostel. Stationery, canteen, parks, everything is present in the hostel itself. For day out or night leaves there are certain procedures like leave application and calling parents for permission which is done by the hostel warden. 4 seater, 3 seater, 2 seater and 1 seater hostel rooms are there with a choice of AC or cooler all of which have an attached washroom for each room. Attendance takes place in the evening when residents are required to be present in their rooms.

Being a faculty member, I would like to answer this question from the perspective of safety. Lovely Professional University is completely safe & secure, 0% Ragging, 0% tolerance to any illegal substances. Following are the security measures undertaken by the university for the safety of the students: 1) There are 7400+ CCTV surveillance on a 24X7 basis from every corner. 2) 400+ Security Officials are there. LPU security team includes experienced ex-military men and women. 3) Drug Free Campus (Zero tolerance towards drugs & alcohol. A dedicated & expert department of security officials and personnel are on duty 24 x 7 to ensure that no drug ever enters the campus). 4) A+ Fire Station is there 5) A+ Hi Tech. Security Gadgets are installed. 6) TURNSTILE GATES & BOOM BARRIERS: LPU has Turnstile gates at major entry/exit points as well as boom barriers for vehicles, thereby ensuring that every movement is monitored. In such an atmosphere you can well imagine how the boys or girls could be.

I was personally a day scholar but one of my friends was a hosteler in girls at LPU. Hostel life is really interesting and very different from how we live at our home. If you apply for mess food they provide u with breakfast, lunch, evening snacks, and dinner. Even mess has not opted then hostel canteens are the option. There are hostel timings in the evening eg 6:00 pm for entry till which you have to enter or a call will be given to parents that your ward is late. There is a time period for the library which is up to 12 midnight I guess. Guards escort girls to the library as it is outside of the hostel. Stationery, canteen, parks, everything is present in the hostel itself. For a day out or night leaves, there are certain procedures like leave application and calling parents for permission which is done by the hostel warden. 4 seater, 3 seater, 2 seater, and 1 seater hostel rooms are there with a choice of AC or cooler all of which have an attached washroom for each room. Attendance takes place in the evening when residents are required to be present in their rooms. Hostel life at LPU is considered to be strict but it's fun anyway. I hope this helps Thanks! Hi there, Well, I being an alumni as well as an existing student of LPU am eligible to answer your question. I have stayed in LPU-hostels for 4 years and that has been an amazing experience of my life. The environment over there is quite over-whelming and healthy. To the best of my own experience, I feel the life at LPU hostels is happening and mesmerizing. The first and most important thing is that hostels are least distant from the block where classes are conducted. The second thing, you get to utilize library till late night upto 12 AM and during exams upto 2 AM. One gets to participate in inter-hostel cultural activities which are all fun. Moreover the security thing is the best out of everything I have experienced. The rooms are good and wardens are very humble. The water facility is very nice and everything one needs in also available. The departmental store in inside the hostel and remains open till 12 AM. Moreover, there are two basketball courts provided for girls hostels 1, 2,3 and 4 as they all are connected and look like a society in itself. Girls hostels 5 and 6 are again connected and a bit far from GH- 1,2,3 and 4. Wardens are always helpful, when you are in need. In case you fall sick at midnight you can call the ambulance immediately. If you want to go out on weekends, you are asked to apply for the leave online and then take the slips from the wardens. Security and safety are primary concerns for girls, and LPU tops in meeting these demands. I feel one must choose to stay in LPU hostels rather than staying in an outside PG. Hope this helps.
