There are many jobs available within the discipline of civil engineering, such as building surveyor, structural engineer, water engineer, nuclear engineer, and transport planner among others. Civil engineering graduates i.e civil engineers can work on any infrastructure project. Civil Engineering is one of the oldest and probably most crucial branches of engineering. Going by the definition of civil engineering, the subject can be defined as the study, design, development and maintenance of the built environment. Being alumni of Lovely Professional University, I must say to achieve the goal of becoming SUCCESSFUL Engineer, student must be backed up & prepared well by the professors with Industry driven curriculum. Most of the faculty staff are from reputed organizations with their the highest degree from various reputed institutes such as IITs, NITs, etc. Apart from that, faculty have got previous industrial experience also. 2. The capstone project is an integral part of the B.Tech programme in which students have to pick a live project based on the practical problem-based scenario (ideally from industry) and work for six months under a mentor and present a report at the end. This is beneficial to enhance your presentation skills. 3. There is an internship programme that could be an opportunity for getting work experience and increase your chance to get employment after you pass out. But, of course, your academic record should be good to get this placement option. 4. Industrial visits are organized to nearby construction sites from time to time. There, you can SEE actual construction work going on. Be prepared to have dust on your shoes (believe me, it will be worth a lot). You have to ask questions yourself and trigger interest in the activities around you. 5. You will get some courses from soft skills, English language, mental and analytical aptitude side. This sounds dull to you as of now. But you will feel its importance when you face an interview panel in a company during your placement drives.

LPU is renowned in teaching, placements, infrastructure, and other facilities too. Some of the major points to be considered are: LPU has its student organisation known as "bridge, " which conducts various events and competitions to bring forth creativity and to award the best engineer in the making. The consortium of former LPU alumni and an active group of engineering professionals with a sound civil background share their experience on various technologies, industries, methodologies, and processes adapted by many MNC. Moreover, Intellectual Industry officials regularly visit the school to guide faculty members and students themselves. Workshops are being arranged for enhancing student knowledge. School of Civil Engineering, Lovely Professional University, has signed MOU with NHAI for giving paid internship opportunities to our existing Civil Engineering students.
