I will clear you one thing- B.Arch is way different from B.Tech in terms of study, course learning and placements also. 'Generally' there are no placements in B.Arch but in no way, it means architects are jobless. They have plenty of options to earn as assistant architect in good firms under reputed architects or start their own firm in any city (Unlike B.Tech where you are dependent on your MNC or firm). Architects build their own name, have their own individual identity, and they are their own Boss. It is just like doctors, do they go for placements? Obviously no. But they do their own practice, or as a consultant in hospitals etc. Google few of reputed Indian architects: Hafeez contractor, B. V Doshi, HCP Ahmedabad, Abhimanyu Dalal, Hire Patel, Zafar Chaudhary, Contractor Didi, Late Charles Correa, CCB Pune. You'll clearly know about the way of working, glimpses of architecture field and inspiration too.
