    Hi Mayank,
St. Xavier's do rank for B.Com in Kolkata as well as in India. I won't brag, but the morning department of Commerce which is exclusively for boys, and not co-ed, is better and amazing than the evening department. It has amazing teaching faculty. The only pinch is the timing, that is from 6-10, but if you are an early morning person, then it won't be a problem at all. Xavier's being an autonomous has its own guidelines and sets their own semester paper.
On the other hand, media studies as far as I know, is also good in Xavier's. As far as I have heard, it's cut off are pretty high too.
Xavier's has its separate Placement cell
