<p>Candidates are sought after for clerical cadre positions in public sector banks in India through the common recruitment procedure (CRP), which is administered by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS). The CRP scores are used by public sector banks to choose applicants for their different branches. Eleven public sector banks participate in the hiring procedure overall. Preliminary and major exams make up the IBPS Clerk selection process. The marks obtained in the prelims exam are not counted for the merit list. The marks obtained in the mains exam are counted for the merit list. The prelims and mains exams are conducted online. The selection process is carried out by IBPS. However, joining letters and verification of eligibility is done by the participating banks.</p>
