The University of Hamburg does not charge tuition fees for the majority of its programs, including for international students. However, all students are required to pay a semester contribution, which is about €335 per semester for the summer semester of 2022. The semester contribution is composed of several components, including €12 for constitutional student body regulations, €179.90 for the semester public transport pass, €5.10 for the semester public transport pass hardship fund, €85 for the Studierendenwerk, and an administrative fee of €50.
