How much of CGPA is required to be maintained in order to get good placement in LPU?

Lovely Professional University is really good University. Right from the teachers to placements, everything amazing and taken care of. I really feel as alumni of LPU, that it is one of the best institution and really works hard to better its students in every way possible. If you want to score good CGPA in any programme, be regular in your class, don't miss the lectures because if you maintain more then 90% attendance, you will get marks. Now marks of all four section will be added and it will decide your final TGPA of semester. Your total marks will added and final grade is depends upon the performance of other students in that subject. If the highest score in that subject is low then your grade will be high even if your marks is less and vice-versa. Believe me guys, Once you get shortlisted to sit in a company, CGPA does not matter at all. But, concentrate more on the word SHORTLISTED. If you are not shortlisted, you will not be able to even sit for the company exam. That's the reason CGPA becomes the most important thing in university. Now, here the tricky part. What if you are always getting shortlisted but you don't have the skills which companies actually want from you, You don't have that personality, that aura, that technical knowledge or those coding skills? In my batch, I have seen both types of students. One were those who were unable to appear in much of the companies because of CGPA issues but when they got even 1 chance they bagged the Job. Second types were those who were always getting shortlisted for each company but still were getting rejected from companies because they lacked those skill set which company wanted. So to conclude, I would say, CGPA holds importance till you are shortlisted for a company. After that, during interviews/GDs/Case Studies, companies will not care if you are a 10 pointer or 7 pointer. So, try maintaining a balance between studies and extra co-curricular activities. Keep in mind, studying for CGPA and studying for knowledge are two different things. I have seen people having high CGPA, still lacking basics. I have also seen people with low CGPA but having great technical knowledge. You will score between 6.5 to 8 CGPA for sure to maintain a balance in these mentioned criteria.

Being alumni of LPU, I can answer better this question. The requirement of CGPA for placement depends on the particular company visiting for the placement. As per my experience, most of the companies ask for a minimum of 6 CGPA to get eligible for placement. LPU is better in terms of placements. Every year more than 550+ companies visit LPU every year. In fact, LPU created a new record in the whole of North India by placing its student Tanya Arora with Microsoft, who bagged a package of 42 LPA. Besides, other record-breaking placements for LPU includes: the highest Placement (Engineering) Rs. 42 Lacs per annum (Microsoft) the highest Placement (Management) Rs. 19.75 Lacs per annum (SOBHA Developers) the highest Placement (Design) Rs. 15 Lacs per annum (Trident Group) Amazon recruited LPU students on a package of 28 LPA The highest internship stipend is up to 80k per month. (which is really hard to get in other universities) The reason why LPU has better placement records than CU is because of its unique career cell. It enables students in getting relevant work experience to complement their studies and develop appropriate skills and knowledge. Resume writing, aptitude development workshops among other activities are hosted for the overall development of students and prepare them to crack the interviews easily. Alumni of LPU are working with top-notch brands globally with a package of more than 1 crore. Right from Google to Apple, students are working worldwide. Some of the top recruiters are Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, Accenture, Cognizant, Amazon, TCS, IBM, Informatica, Capgemini, SAP, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Bosch, Ashok Leyland, Voltas, Mercedes Benz, Honda, Daikin, Renault Nissan, Sony, Adobe, Virtusa, KPIT, Morgan Stanley, Hindustan Unilever Ltd, Trident Group, Infineon, KPMG, Colgate-Palmolive and the list still goes on. The best thing I like about LPU about placement is, they provide placement classes to all the students from the very first year who opt for the placement. With the help of this, they can prepare themselves for placements till the pre-final year because the companies will start visit for the recruitment of students from a pre-final year. Some of the students go for internships also in their final year. LPU received an Employability award by Aspiring Mind in 2020 for best placement Institute in India.
