3- Start working on your Hobby and answer to tell me about yourself
4- Identify your weak areas and forte.
5- Then devise a strategy to improve your weak areas and refine your areas of excellence

CAT (Common Admission Test) is one of the toughest exam to crack. It is the gateway to getting into prestigious IIMS and other top B-schools of India. A lot of CAT aspirants ask me how to prepare for CAT. Here I am sharing a few tips around the same:
    1. Understand the syllabus
    2. Begin with an aim in mind
    3. If you have a lot of time, you can go for coaching. However, if you are into a hectic job and get very little time to study, you can prepare on your own without wasting that time in going to coaching.
    4. Get CAT preparation material of some good coaching institute/ authors

CAT is a highly competitive examination which requires thorough preparation. Toppers usually recommend continuous preparation rather than short-term rigorous preparation.
    1. To begin with, you should go through the syllabus very carefully.
    2. Understand what sections are your strengths and what are your weak areas.
    3. Make a time table where you give more time to your weaker areas. If you concentrate better at night, make a time table accordingly and if you learn better during the day, plan your studies according to that.
    4. To build your confidence, pick your strong subjects, it will make a flow, then gradually go to the tougher secti

I will give simple points that helped me in preparation.
Start giving and analyzing mocks is most important step. Don't worry if you are not prepared with topics, just give mocks to learn time management and test taking skills. Analyze mocks religiously. Schedule your week's work according to my performance. So, for example, if you did badly in verbal, then focus more on verbal in next week. For Verbal- start reading articles of diverse topics. Make a habit of reading 1 hour daily. I cannot emphasize the importance of reading enough because verbal comes naturally there is no formula to it. If you develop reading habit, then you can crui

I would suggest you to first start with self-preparation and stick to it for few weeks and revise your class 10 and 12th maths (CBSE/ICSE if possible) to strengthen your basics.
You may join some good coaching institute which offers quality coaching for CAT and various other management entrance test. Regularly give mock test, based on your performance in mock tests you may know in area you are strong and in which areas you need more hard work. Best of Luck.

With a 300 SC category rank in CAT, your chances for NIT Trichy MBA are relatively high. Based on 2025 data, NIT Trichy generally shortlists SC candidates with CAT percentiles around 60-65. To achieve a 300 rank under SC category, you would need about a 65-70 percentile, or a score of roughly 60-65 marks out of 198 in CAT 2025, depending on difficulty and normalization process. Final selection is also based on interview, academics, and work experience. Yes, you are fairly within touch, but I would encourage you to have a solid overall profile as well to increase your chances of admission.
