JNU is very strict when it comes to the eligibility requirements of M.Sc. in Chemistry. The candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or any other branch of basic or applied sciences under the 10+2+3 pattern of education with at least 55% marks. They should also have passed the following pre-requisite courses with at least 75% marks: Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Genetics, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, and at least one or more of topics in Immunology/Physiology/Developmental biology. The admission is through a national-level entrance examination as per JNU admission policy.
