ya, u can go for software engineering by doing electronics and comm. engg or IT engg. Actually the electronics & comm. is the branch by which u can go for electronics, telecom, software or it company. but along with your degree you have to learn some languages like C++,java on your own. but if you have decided to go for software engineering only then i suggest u to do B.Tech in computer science.

Hi Praveen, if you are interested to make your career in software engineering then BE/B.Tech./MCA or degree in IT would be better choice for you. Electronic and Communication are good for telecom sector and for becoming software engineer knowledge of different computer languages, different computer technologies, computer applications etc. are required. These all are in the curriculum of computer science and IT courses. So it would be a better choice. All the best!

its better to go with BE/B.Tech of IT related.u can go as software engineer by doing ECE or others. but u have choosen that u want to SE. its very uesfull when u choose CSE or IT because here u can gain knowledge based full on SE.for SE basic need is C & C++,JAVA.these u can gain mostly and throughly fromCSE or IT only.

Hello Paveen.Your knowledge about software engineering is more important rather than your degree. Just look into software industries so many software engineer comes from commerce, Mechanical engineering , Art background and they are earning a lot. And look towards MCA/BE/B.TECH they are still hunting jobs since last 2 years.
