To calculate your GATE 2024 score using the answer key, follow these steps:

    1. Identify the marking scheme (usually 1 or 2 marks per correct answer).
    2. Count the number of questions you attempted for each section (MCQs and NAT/SAQs).Then, check the answer key to see how many of your attempted answers are correct.
    3. Apply the formula:
      • MCQs: For each section, subtract 1/3 marks (for 1 mark MCQs) or 2/3 marks (for 2 mark MCQs) for every incorrect answer. Add the remaining marks for correct MCQs.
      • NAT/SAQs: Add the marks for all correctly answered NAT/SAQs based on the marking scheme.
    4. Sum the marks obtained from MCQs and NAT/SAQs sections.
  • Candidates can calculate the probable scores by using the GATE answer key in the steps mentioned below:

    - First, calculate the total number of correct answers. - Now, allocate marks accordingly and then calculate the overall marks. - The candidate has to check or tally the total negative marks for wrong attempts. Note: Only MCQs will have negative markings. - There will be no negative marking for NAT questions. Therefore, scroll down for calculations:

Marks for MCQ: total marks (1 mark) + total marks (2 marks)

Total marks (1 mark) = 1 x number of correct attempts 1/3 x number of wrong attempts. Total marks (2 marks) = 2 x the number of co
