Aneeket thanks for inviting. After past experience, I thought to keep away myself from all discussion still I attracted to response when you summoned :) (I hope I deserve this)
Well, a good question and good discussion.
Unfortunately people attend interview just to get into that company, course (brand and salary) (I am sorry if I am sounding criticizing but I am expressing my views).
Well, for attending interview and cracking it following things matter a lot
    1. Knowledge about the subject matter
    2. Awareness on current affairs
    3. Body language and confidence
    4. Presentability
    5. Clarity of thinking
    6. Clear vision and goal in the life.

Etiquette and good manners at a job interview are vitally important. Showing the right job interview etiquette and manners will give you a real advantage over other candidates, and therefore it is wise to prepare yourself with right attitude before the interview.

Some professional manners should also be developed. I like to give an example. In an Hr interview, they made the cadidates sit in a room and gave a chocolate(like 5 star) and watched them through a secret camera. Some put in their pockets while few others started eating. One of them teared opened it gently and started eating in a professional manner. He was the one who got selected. So keep in mind, body language doesnot mean sitting, walking and standing postures alone.

Just as there is no concrete formulae for making a hit film, similarly there is no concrete method for being successful in Interviews. Many times we feel that why this song or a movie is hit though it does not have anything extra-ordinary. This is a unfortunately a harsh truth but which is also debatable.
Still what I personally feel is that one develops more chances of being successfull in an interview if one is able to bring himslef/herself in the same Sync as of the Interviewers and as of the organization for which one is giving the interview.
A lot depends on what the organization demands of a candidate and unfortunately no candidat

A very nice discussion started Ankur Jindal 007
I think mostly every individual in his life comes across an interview. As per me I think the best way to crack an interview is confidence and spontaneity! One should give answers to the best of his knowledge rather than guessing as it gives the interviewer a feeling that the aspirant is laid back, effortless (doesn't makes efforts to find the exact data),unconcerned etc.
Then another major factor that plays a very vital role in interviews is your body language as it is the most visible thing and can win the interview for you! So the body language should always be apt and not offending!!

I believe each interview is worth learning. Each interview makes you strong and helps you to analyze your confidence level , technical knowledge , communication skills and positive attitude towards it.
The most important pointers to be focused during interview phase:
•Eye Contact :- Interviewer observes what a interviewee tells closely by looking at their eyes.
•Take a deep breath everytime :- The interviewer will try out each possible way to create stress by firing sudden questions , cross questions and even make you believe a correct answer unsatisfactory. Just don't loose your calm and patience. The best way to keep calm and min

@aru and @MSK have enumerated all the good tips for personal interview. I will just add some practicality. Dare to say I don't know the answer, if you are not having one. Looking at ceiling and pretending to think and trying to show that you have an answer but at the moment not getting it, actually puts-off an expert panelist. If you are not very sure about the answer but have an idea, before replying add that " I will attempt to give you an answer but pardon if I am not very accurate". Another very important thing is not to ask to repeat the question. If you did not hear, if you are not clear then straight away say sorry I don't know

To do well in interviews, students need to prepare on the below mentioned 2 categories:
    Physical preparations for interview:
Physical preparations include looking after health and hygiene, maintaining a groomed appearance, dressing appropriately, good body language, etc.
    Mental preparations for interview.
Candidates who desire to get selected in the face of stiff competition need to appear before the interview panel fully prepared on subject content. This includes a thorough revision of actual subject knowledge. Getting acquainted with current affairs and general knowledge is also a good idea. For this a habit of reading newspapers and wa

There are times when despite a good resume you haven't landed a good job. Most likely the problem lies with you and not with your resume. It's not always that your resume gets you the dream job. It also depends how well you manage the interview part, especially the 'tough and tricky' questions. The best is to:-
**Keep your praise & observations credible & realistic
    **Be positive and Maintain Calmness
    **Communication is the key skill
**Answer the questions directly, don't play with the words
