Humanities vs Social Sciences

Humanities and social sciences are two different fields of study, but they do overlap to some extent. Humanities mainly focus on the study of human culture, history, and society. On the other hand, social sciences deal with the scientific study of human behavior, society, and relationships. It includes subjects like sociology, psychology, political Science, economics, anthropology, and geography. Social sciences aim to understand and explain social phenomena and human behavior through scientific methods. Both humanities and social sciences are important and have their own value in today's world. While humanities subjects are more focused on human culture and creative expression, social sciences are more focused on understanding and analyzing human behavior and society in a scientific manner. In terms of career opportunities, both fields offer diverse and promising options. Humanities graduates can pursue careers in fields such as teaching, writing, journalism, media, advertising, public relations, publishing, arts, and culture. Social Science graduates can pursue careers in fields such as research, social work, counseling, policy analysis, advocacy, law, politics, international relations, and business.

HI ALL, Both the fields have huge scope in India as well as abroad. Its only the the approach that differs in both the fields and as there is scientific approach to social sciences, it is considered to be a branch of study in between humanities and natural sciences.

One of the major differences between the two is that humanities involve a more critical and analytical approach whereas social science deals with a more scientific approach.

Hi, Humanities is a branch of science that deals with the heritage and the question of what makes us human. Humanities deal with law, history, ancient languages, modern languages, philosophy, history, religion, and visual/performing arts. While, Social Science is a subdivision of science that deals with the study of society and the relations of an individual within a society.
