A Diploma holder can definitely seek admission in lateral mode directly in second year of four years engineering course. You should go through the prospectus of the course provided by the college to know about details of selection, eligibility, fee, etc. -

I think you might have missed on the last few words of your query. Let me assume and respond. If it's not correct please ask query again. Yes, a Diploma holder can definitely seek admission in lateral mode directly in second year of four years engineering course. However for JEE Mains, Diploma is considered as equivalent to 12th.
