I am little concerned about how universities (LPU) and institutions will address social distancing when students join university/ institute?

Hi, LPU is very strict in terms of safety of students and staff. LPU has made several rules and regulations for safety. To highlight a few- 1) University premises is sanitized daily even if the students are there or not. 2) Masks are mandatory to wear on the campus. 3) Thermal Scanning is done regularly. 4) The strength of the classes will be less abiding the rules of social distancing. 5) Online teaching is there to avoid the loss of studies. There are many other changes that the university is going to make further for the safety of the students and I can say that LPU will do its best. Thanks.

LPU carefully nurtures its students and propels them to the pinnacle of success so that their hard work culminates to a point which would be the cause of envy of many. But in this journey of success LPU is fully aware of the present constraints of the health scenario and has taken good initiatives to protect the students. The protection of students and educational facilities is particularly important in this grim situation. LPU would make sure the workplaces are clean and hygienic, surfaces (e. g. desks and tables) and objects (e. g. telephones, keyboards) would be wiped with disinfectant regularly Because contamination on surfaces touched by staff and students is one of the main ways that COVID-19 spreads. LPU has already put sanitizing hand rub dispensers in prominent places around the workplace and makes sure these dispensers are regularly refilled This is combined with other communication measures such as offering guidance from occupational health and safety officers, briefings at meetings, and information on intranet sites to promote hand-washing LPU ensures that face masks or paper tissues are available for those who develop a runny nose or cough at work, along with closed bins for hygienically disposing masks an tissues. So LPU encourage regular hand-washing LPU encourages participants to cover their face with the bend of their elbow or a tissue if they cough or sneeze and supply tissues and closed bins for disposal. LPU would display dispensers of alcohol-based hand rub prominently around the venue.

The largest private university in terms of number of students and campus size. It has setup of $ 1mn fund for research and innovation for Covi-19 fight, this lead to plethora of innovations and developments at campus. More than 5 of LPU's initiatives have featured in top 20 measures all across India. The campus is being sanitized daily whether there is student strength or not. Movement without masks has been abolished in campus. All the social distancing norms can be easily practiced in LPU as its campus is huge and there is space capacity to do so. In house hospital: A massive inhouse hospital is already there in case of any urgency. Thermal scanners: These have been placed at all the entries and exits of university, in every department and block. Regular advisory: Regular advisories are floated on the University APP, which is mandatory for all the staff and students to have. Food: The good quality food of mess is being delivered into the hostel rooms so that there is no bog gathering. Classes: As off now, all the classes and tests are being curated online, LPU will obviously follow the guidelines by government when the campus re opens for next academic year. Faculty : The faculty is being regularly sensitized about the precautions and safety measures. Rules for movement: The strict rules and regulations are in place for movement of people within the campus so as to minimize the rush.

Till now university management played a very good role in handling everything which is important in pandemic. Before the actual lockdown university sent us to home for our safety and as per the government orders then they provided each and everything to us through online mode using ( UMS, LPU Live app, Googlemeet). Even when government declared the national lockdown and covid 19 started moving towards peak, University started the work from home policy for all staff. Those students and staff who were not able to reach at home due to some reasons, LPU took care of them very effectively. The protection of students and educational facilities is particularly important in this grim situation. LPU would make sure the workplaces are clean and hygienic, surfaces (e. g. desks and tables) and objects (e. g. telephones, keyboards) would be wiped with disinfectant regularly Because contamination on surfaces touched by staff and students is one of the main ways that COVID-19 spreads. LPU would make it mandatory to wear masks. Hospital of the campus is fully prepared to handle such situations.

Now let me put some light on the endeavors made by LPU to fight against COVID-19 Pandemic; 1) LPU has set up of $ 1million fund for research and innovation to fight against Covid-19 Pandemic, this lead to plethora of innovations and developments at campus. 2) More than 5 of LPU's initiatives have featured in top 20 measures all across India. 3) The campus is being sanitized daily whether there is student strength or not. 4) Movement without masks has been restricted in the campus. 5) While entering the University, everyone is being medically examined with thermal scanners. 6) Social distancing norms are applied in the campus, it was very easy to implement Social distancing as its campus is huge and there is space capacity to do so. 7) In house hospital: A giant 100 B.Ed hospital is already there in case of any urgency. 8) Regular advisories are floated on the University APP, which is mandatory for all the staff and students to have. 9) The good quality food of mess is being delivered into the hostel rooms so that there is no bog gathering. There is routine quality check on food. 10) As off now, all the classes and tests are being curated online, LPU will obviously follow the guidelines by government when the campus re opens for next academic year. 11) The strict rules and regulations are in place for movement of people within the campus so as to minimize the rush. CCTV cameras are already in campus for enhanced safety and surveillance for ensuring the adherence to rules. 12) Motivation speaks and Webinar are becoming support system to many of the faculty members to further motivate the students and prospective students. I was also worried then, I came to know from the counsellors that the University authorities have already followed the guidelines given by Central Government and State Government and will definitely take precautionary measures. On inquiring from the staff of LPU, I came to know that, before the lockdown was announced, special staff was deputed to check the body temperature and other related things at the entry GATE. I also came to know that University authorities send the students and faculty back to their homes and all the teaching underwent on online modes. Definitely, LPU have followed the guidelines of social distancing and will follow as directed. Few of the following initiatives have been taken: 1. Wearing of mask by all 2. Daily sanitation 3. Strict rules of movement 4. All the hostel rooms and buildings are sanitized and unnecessary movement of anyone is prohibited 5. No big gathering 6. Thermal scanners 7. Extension in timings 8. Living the next adjacent seat to follow social distancing Over an above nearly 4000+ cameras are installed in University for the safety and security of the student. After knowing this, I am bit relaxed that LPU not only says but believes in delivering quality whether it is academics or environment but not pretty sure about other institute. Dear Aspirant, Students' health assurance is the priority at LPU. In this pandemic, LPU followed all the rules and regulations prescribed by the government. LPU has opened the campus now as per the guidelines for fully vaccinated students. Also, who are not fully vaccinated, LPU is providing online classes for them. I hope this helps Thanks!

LPU has a strict rules regarding COVID 19, before entering the main GATE temperature is checked, mask is mandatory for everyone. To ensure that the precious time of the students is not lost, we started with live online classes immediately after the announcement of lockdown in March 2020. Developing LPU MyClass, an in house robust platform, in collaboration with some of the best tech companies for online teaching and evaluation.

The college has fostered my over-all growth and has nurtured me with experiences that I hold very dear. It is true that LPU has a few issues that it needs to work on, but it does not take away the credibility of all the good the college has to offer. From the time of admissions to convocation, LPU has been a family of friends, teachers and staff members that grew together, fought together and achieved together. I had really suggest you to be a part of this university and experience yourself before you form a judgement.
