I am shortlisted for GD and PI by KIITEE Management Score. As a B.Tech background which is preferable Marketing or Finance?

Hi Achinto. First of all, congratulations for getting selected for the GD/PI and I wish you all the best for the same. I am also from B.tech background and all i would say is things in management are very different from things there at engineering. You will be given a glimpse of all the subjects including Finance, Marketing, HR, Operations in the 1st year itself and then go with the subject which u find suits you the most and you are most interested in in the 2nd year, when you will have to select your specialization subjects. Moreover, here in KSOM, you get dual specialization, major and minor. So, in case you find you are interested in any two of the subjects, you can anytime go for both of them, keeping one as Major and other as Minor. ALL THE BEST. Hope this helped. Dear Achinto,It depends on your preference and understanding of subjects . I am a B.Tech & probably I'll do my specialization in Marketing management . On the other hand many of our B.Tech batch mates are doing exceptionally well in the area of finance & HR . So what I'll suggest don't make your mind so early ,first go through the subjects then decide . All the best for your future .

Dear Achinto, thanks for the question. First congratulations for being selected by KSOM. Both Marketing and Finance are interesting specializations and have a lot of scope. But ultimately it is your preference and liking for the subject which will motivate you to take up either of the specializations. So go ahead and do well.
