Your JEE Mains registration form must show General for category selection because the National Testing Agency (NTA) administers this Central Government-run national-level examination. The NTA uses Central Government reservation guidelines which exclude state-level OBC categorizations from eligibility. As per the Central Government's guidelines, OBC category is further divided into two sub-categories: OBC-NCL (Non-Creamy Layer) and OBC-CL (Creamy Layer). The category under which you fall within the Central Government structure makes reservation benefits unavailable to you. Choose General when completing the category choice box.

You should select the Central Government-approved category for the JEE Mains form, which in your case is the General category (also called the Unreserved category).
This is due to the fact that the JEE Mains exam is administered at the national level by the Central Government-affiliated National Testing Agency (NTA). The Central Government's rules on reserves and classifications are adhered to by the NTA.
