    I think you should go for private colleges, because with your score it is going to be tough to get IITs/NITs. If you want to try then this isn't a good idea at all because 1 year is much time and I'll not suggest you to waste your complete 1 year. You should try in private colleges with great academic background and placements history.

    Apply to as many colleges as you can to improve your chances of getting admission.

    it is impossible to get admission in any good government college.
    you can opt for private colleges in you region.

    To be on a safer side, opt for private colleges. And if you want to take the risk then wait for the counselling rounds but be assured, you have to wait till the last round to get admission with this score.

    At first, you have to qualify the exam. Otherwise, you cannot get a seat from any engineering college.
