    Hi,
If your degree has not yet been released by the degree, go to your dean and VC and get an application etc. Signed by them regarding your eligibility. All universities give a provisional degree, but if you do not have even that then you have to go to your dean and VC.

Then contact the authorities right away. You should always have your degree certificate no matter what otherwise all your efforts all your hardwork and all the time you have invested will go in vain and it will be like you will have to do the whole B.Tech again from start. So it is immaterial that the company asks for it or not. Ask for the certificate. They should provide you with some kind of document which is a proof of you completing the education.
