I have taken PCM for my class 12 and want to pursue graduation in biotechnology can I do it?

It might become quite difficult to survive in biotechnology because a PCM student is unaware of basic concepts of biology which are roots of biotechnology. It is true that to study biotechnology one have to be very thorough in the basic concepts of biology. The syllabus of biology taught in 11th and 12th are the base of B.Sc. In Biotechnology course. So many institutions don't provide admission to PCM students for biotechnology course. If you have extreme desire to pursue B.Sc. In this field then there are some colleges too who welcome PCM students for this course. Even though for the sake of admission you don't need biology but a basic knowledge of biology is very much essential both in B.Sc. And B.Tech if you take up your career in Biotechnology. In biotechnology major preference is given to biology because biotech is all about integrating biological sciences with new advanced technologies. So, PCM students have to work on themselves to be strong enough in biology. Otherwise, they may face difficulty to understand the concepts. This was the same dilemma, with my brother, he had keen interest in Biotechnology, but was a PCM student, we researched many colleges and universities, then we came across Lovely Professional University. Well the eligibility criteria for this programme at LPU is Pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with Physics, Chemistry, English and Mathematics or Biology or Biotechnology or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPU NEST or In case student scored more than or equal to 90% in 10+2, or 90 percentile in JEE Mains, then LPU NEST will be exempted and candidate may apply for admission.
