I've completed a Diploma & now I am joining in a university for doing B.Tech, is it essential for it to have AICTE approval?

Is it safe to do B.Tech from a UGC approved university?

    Dear,
    In India, any university can get recognition out of the act passed on either in state legislature or in the Parliament. As and when the particular act is passed on behalf of the formation of one University it becomes eligible for getting recognition of UGC by fulfilling the T&C of UGC for which they need to move forward. So far my knowledge goes one University does not require separate recognition from AICTE. But if the University affiliates any College which will conduct undergraduate Engineering course - the particular college requires branch wise CS / ECE/ EE etc.). AICTE approval.
