I would like to congratulate you for your dream. Civil service is considered as the top level official jobs in central government. Please understand that there is no separate exams for IAS and IPS. There is only one exam called as Civil service examination. The examination is conducted by UPSC each year. On the basis of marks scored on this test, IAS, IPS, IFS,IRS services are allotted to the right candidates.
Eligibility : for Appearing Civil service premlims, Graduation in any stream from a recognized university , is enough. Please note that there is not mark restriction in graduation.

Age : One should complete minimum 21 years for appaering examination. Maximum age is 32 years for General Category.
There is a relaxation of 3 Years in (Upper age ) for OBC candidates and 5 Years for SC /SCT Candidates and EX.Service men.
There are two sessions for CIVIL SERVICE
1. Prelims
2. Main
Preliminary examination is usually conducted on the month of May/June. It is an objective type examination of 3 hours duration. 300 questions will there to answer.
Negative marketing system is applicable.
Prelims syllabus is based on
1. Indian and World History
2. Indian Constitution and Legal System
3. Current Affairs
4. General Knowledge
5. Basic Maths
6. Basic English and Grammar
The one who have passed Prelims can continue with main examination. Not like Prelims, it is descriptive. We can choose a subject from the given subjects. It may not related with your grafuation. For example, a MBBS, graduate can take History as his elective subject for main examination.
Now candidates can write the examination in their regional language also. This will help the candidates to score more in written examination.
Successful candidates are called asked to give their preferences, ie IAS,IPS,IFS,IRS etc.on the basis of rank secured , they will be given appropriate services. They will called for interview with board members. It will be a cruicial statge. Any questions can expect from your CV, It may be personal, from your elective subjects, currunt affair, your political views etc.
successful candidates needs to undergo training at Musury, civil service training academy. After this , candidates will be send for training as trainee in various caders .
So as a first step, you should take a Bachelor degree in any subject and start preparation for prelims right now.
