I want to change my field, is it a right decision? Will I get a job opportunity after completing the course?

I am working as an electrical maintenance engineer in a manufacturing plant with an exp of 2 years 5 months. I am very much interested in MM module. I want to resign the job and get trained in MM. so, is it right decision? Kindly suggest for the same.
