No, CAT and MAT syllabuses are almost same. MAT is easy. If you are preparing for CAT then no need of separate work for MAT. The syllabus is almost the same. I was also a student who prepared for CAT immediately after my graduation. The important things which you should look into while preparing for this exam are as follows:
    1. Select one of the best coaching centers which offer quality education- TIME is one of the famous coaching centers for CAT.
    2. Dedication- Be focused on the aim which you need to achieve.
    3. Try to read Hindu newspaper editorial. Most of the passages which appear in CAT are from Hindu editorial.
    4. Try to maximum num

No, you don't have any exam preparation with CAT because when you are preparing CAT then you have already prepared MAT exam but you should also solve mock test related to MAT but you should practice equally all subjects Aptitude, math, general knowledge, or most important English, CAT or MAT English subject most important subject, you should know English grammar.
Preparing well for CAT will surely help you in several other MBA entrance examinations. However, there might be difference of formats importance of sections within the paper may vary and also there might be additional sections like general awareness or behavioral aptitude for i

To simply put the answer in 'no'. You need not prepare separately for both exams. Preparing for CAT will ensure you have prepared 85% for MAT as well.
The only additional part if I talk about syllabus would be General Knowledge section for which you should read current affairs. This can easily be covered by newspapers and magazines.
Apart for regular CAT study the other thing must to cover MAT is practicing mock papers for MAT.
This will ensure that you know the format of the exam and are well prepared for it.
Keep in mind the only key to hack the exams is hard work mixed with smart work.

    Hi,
No, you don't need to. CAT is difficult as compared to MAT. If you have chosen to prepare for CAT please focus on it as it covers the preparation for MAT exam as well. Moreover, where through CAT aspirants are eligible for admissions to 20 Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and more than 1000 B-Schools in India, on the other hand, more than 600 Management Institutes offer admissions on basis of MAT scores. For details on the difference in terms of eligibility, pattern and difficulty level of both these exams, check out this article on Shiksha:

You don't need to prepare separately, but you do need to get a sense of familiarity for the MAT pattern. So, you can prepare the syllabus of CAT and need not worry about the preparation for MAT. But then you need to take mock exams for MAT so that you understand how to modify your approach to attain optimum speed and accuracy for the difficulty level of MAT.
Another part is that, MAT would have general knowledge. Now, you need to prepare for GK anyway. Go through the last years papers, understand the trend and study accordingly. Also, keep your current affairs updated. Read newspaper daily and keep reading about important world affairs,

No, because CAT is the national level exam, which is quite difficult in comparison to MAT. So, if you are preparing for CAT you will automatically get prepared for MAT. Only difference is that in MAT would be a GK Section for which you have to prepare separately.
