If I am unable to get an internship in the top law firms, will this affect my future prospects?

    Getting an internship at a top firm does help future prospects. That being said, there is absolutely nothing that hard-work and perseverance cannot make up for. Apart from internships, taking part in moot courts, being actively involved in other co-curricular activities can help a long way in building a good CV. Don't be disheartened if you are not able to secure an internship in a top firm. Consider this as an opportunity to grow. Also, know that the smaller the firm, the more the work and the responsibility is likely to be given to you. A rigorous internship with good work being allotted to interns can make up for the tag of a top la

    Certainly not, doing internship in top law firms doesn't affect any future prospects, though they are always an additional feather in your cap. Firstly, if in future you are looking for litigation, even an experience with small firm will help you, because such small firm gives you more responsibility and expect you to work. Where in top firm, they do not give you much work. This is my personal experience. So, don't get disheartened, if you have not done any internship in big firms. Take it as a blessing in disguise, because in small firms you learn a lot more. Secondly, if in future, you are looking for Judiciary Internship, it doesn't

    Well, internships have a lot to do, but only with respect to your placements, as they are needed when you are in a law school. However, it doesn't affect your future prospects as such, because you have a lot of options when you have a law degree with you.
    Certainly, if it is about your placements, then internships in top law firms do matter. But, they do not really define your future as such.
