In which field can I get a job after completing my diploma in mechanical engineering (production)?

Dear Imran, First, having a diploma in mechanical engineering is great for current job trends in Indian market as mechanical industry needs people with machining skill set and strong basics, which you possess as you have done these things in your diploma course. Further you can try in any of the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturing) company for a post of trainee or operator of different machines/ fabrication, etc. You can also try in government sector by doing a course in ITI, first gain experience, then do your Bachelors as it would help you to grow in the sector in terms of income and also the ranking / profile would change easily. Other departments such as aeronautical, agricultural, automobile, chemical, and power plants, as well as the railways, need mechanical engineers to design and maintain their machinery. Mechanical Engineers also mostly required in automobile, chemical, electronics, steel plants, oil exploration and refining, technical wings of armed forces, space research organisation, etc. You can also consider AMIE. The Institution of Engineers (India) conducts an examination that qualifies a candidate as an Associate Member of the Institute of Engineers (India). This offers recourse to those who have not been able to pursue a regular engineering course. The AMIE (I) is considered on par with B.E / B.Tech degrees for competitive exams like the Civil Services, Engineering Services, GATE, and for placement in government, the public and private sectors.
