I believe it is one of the highly paid jobs, so one can overrate it also.
Duty hours and flight schedule are usually very different than other 9 to 5 jobs.
But this is the beauty of this job. Since it requires a lot of physical and mental stability, one gives more attention towards their fitness,
You have to be fit to perform your duties, every day.
One has to plan it's timetable to adjust with these working hours.
Plan your sleep accordingly so that you are not fatigued at the end.

You can say that cabin crew members are overrated. The average salary of a cabin crew member is Rs. 45,000/- (highest is Rs. 60,000/-). Of course with this high salary, the expectations of airlines would also be high. Now it's all up to you that how would you manage your 24 hours of time to look fresh every time and being proactive. The answer depends on from what angle one views the job. Compared with normal 9-5 job this of course is entirely different. Hours are long and definitely not fixed.It must be understood that it's a service job and all the pitfalls of service job happen here also. In olden times, the job of Air Hostess was quite different than it is today. Many factors have been added in. As has been pointed out, cabin crew flies minimum of two long distance flights. This amounts to dealing with two sets of almost 160 passengers. It can take its toll since cabin crew is trained to bottle their emotions.
