Being LPU alumni i would recommend B.Tech Mechanical from LPU, i am sharing my friend review regarding this course, His experience at LPU was amazing,Currently he is working with XL Dynamics with decent package.
As a general rule for placements, a lot more will depend upon your own hard work, communication & presentation skills and overall preparation. This would be true for any university you enroll in.

To the best of my knowledge, I am sharing the major placement highlights. LPU is good in case of placement but if we talk about the placement in the Mechanical branch. In Mech the no of students placed in Core company like Honda, Cheema Boilers, etc. If we take a look at last year's students placed in recent batch:- Honda-2 students at 8 Lacs also Cheema Boilers=around 7 or 8 students selected as a Trainee Many students got placed in Anglo-Eastern i. e Merchant Navy and some students in Samundra which is also a Merchant Navy Institute. Hettich India and Giga solar selected 11 students from Mechanical Engineering for packages worth 5.0 Lacks and 2.4 Lacs for on job pieces of training.

Hi Pratik, the LPU offers a B Tech in Mechanical Engineering which seamlessly articulates the concepts from basic science to technology with relevant practice through lab and projects for building the problem solving skills, keeping industry requirements in place for Design, Manufacturing, Thermal etc specialization.
The Eligibility Criteria is (Qualifying Exam) Pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with Physics, Mathematics and English) or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPUNEST/ JEE (Mains).
For a candidate, who has not studied English as a subject, the condition of English may be waived off provided the candidate in his qualifying
