Is CU good for mechanical engineering than LPU?

Hi Pratik, the LPU offers a B Tech in Mechanical Engineering which seamlessly articulates the concepts from basic science to technology with relevant practice through lab and projects for building the problem solving skills, keeping industry requirements in place for Design, Manufacturing, Thermal etc specialization. The Eligibility Criteria is (Qualifying Exam) Pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with Physics, Mathematics and English) or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPUNEST/ JEE (Mains). For a candidate, who has not studied English as a subject, the condition of English may be waived off provided the candidate in his qualifying exam has studied in English medium. (5% relaxation to North East states and Sikkim candidates/ Defence Personnel and their Dependents/ Wards of Kashmiri Migrants) If Candidate has 85 or more percentile in JEE(Mains), then LPUNEST is exempted. The course aims at enabling the student to Effectively build and communicate the solutions using learnings from basic mechanical engineering, basic sciences, mathematics and computational skills and tools. He should have the Ability to design using Design of Machine Elements theories and to create prototypes using relevant manufacturing technology. He should acquire Capability of building efficient energy conversion systems using basic understanding of Thermodynamics, Heat transfer and Fluid Mechanics. He should Demonstrate the ability to propose cost effective optimized solutions using simulated environments of Computer aided design, computer aided manufacturing and computer aided engineering. The highest salary package offered to mechanical branch students is 31 LPA, while the average salary is 4.8 lpa.Top recruiting companies are Bosch, ONGC, Ashok Leyland, Hitachi, etc.

I was also in this dilemma while choosing a university, It turned out that it is better to pursue mechanical engineering at LPU. In Mech the no of students placed in Core company like Honda, Cheema Boilers, etc. If we take a look at last year's students placed in recent batch:- Honda-2 students at 8 Lacs also Cheema Boilers=around 7 or 8 students selected as a Trainee Many students got placed in Anglo-Eastern i. e Merchant Navy and some students in Samundra which is also a Merchant Navy Institute. Hettich India and Giga solar selected 11 students from Mechanical Engineering for packages worth 5.0 Lacks and 2.4 Lacs for on job pieces of training.
