In the era of competitive world, many organisations are offering lot many courses under its roof but I would suggest you to check the following before finalising the institute. 1. Rankings 2. Faculty 3. Pedagogy used 4. International exposure 5. Tech-savvy last but not the least Placements I am not pretty sure about CU but one of the my nephew who completed his studies from LPU has his roommates studying in mechanical department of LPU appreciates the hard efforts and the inputs given by the organisation. The Mechanical Department of LPU has highly experienced and qualified staff pursuing their research in thrust areas such as CAD/CAM, Mechanical design, Thermal engineering, Fluid dynamics, Manufacturing Engineering, Tool design and Flexible Manufacturing Systems/Automation. The Department has to its credit more than 100 research publications in International, National Journals including prestigious ASME Transactions, International Conference and National Conference. The companies which have visited in LPU are Asahi Glass India Ltd, Cognizant, Tech Mahindra, Anglo, Eastern Ship management, Zycus, Think and Learn, Cactus Communications, XL Dynamics, Lava International, Unisys, JET Airways, ELGI (Off Campus), Daikin Air-conditioning, Honda and many more. Apart from the placements students can pursue their career in: 1. Defence Services 2. Indian Engineering services 3. PSUs like NTPC, NHPC, ONGC etc. 4. Higher Studies like M.Tech, MBA. 5. Hi Partik, Between Chandigarh University or LPU, I would always prefer to choose LPU. I will tell you why? The Mechanical Engineering department had the most ideal study environment since I have two friends from that stream. The labs and workspace at LPU School of Mechanical Engineering, was fully equipped with all the necessary machinery that was required for wholesome learning. I am going to share few facts which i know about mechanical department:- A Mechanical Engineering student goes through an experiential learning process surrounded by high-end latest labs and equipment including robotics and automation. International tech-fests and competitions encourage all-round development in our students in addition to giving them international exposure. As a general rule for placements, a lot more will depend upon your own hard work, communication & presentation skills and overall preparation. This would be true for any university you enroll in. PEP classes start right away from the first semester itself in form of Communication Skills and continue till the final semester covering: Analytical Skills (Logic Reasoning and Verbal Reasoning) Quantitative Aptitude Skills Technical Aptitude Skills Presentations and Soft Skills Mock Exercises (Mock Interviews, GDs, Mock Tests, etc.) All a student has to do is to maintain a good academic record and personality to ensure his/her placement. Hello! Without any doubt I would say LPU is way better than CU for engineering all branches. I have done my engineering from LPU can confidently say that LPU has experienced faculties, well equipped labs, great infrastructure, excellent placements and complete training and placement assistance. Now talking specifically about Mechanical engineering, I had many friends in this branch and almost all of them were placed via campus placements, that too in core companies. Recently NIRF has ranked LPU amongst the top 100 engineering institutions. LPU is one of the leading private universities. Lpu has proven itself every year in terms of it's placements. The record of alumni states that very clearly. Lpu not only provides the best in terms of academic exposure but also simultaneously prepare the student to be ready to face the market trends. Professional enhancement classes are the integral part of the curriculum. There are numerous events like go karting, auto expo etc. Which plays a vital role for mechanical engineering students.
