Is game design in LPU good? What is the qualification for the course?

There are many courses of animation and gaming in india and few places are doing really great. I have done my Masters from lovely professional university LPU provides 6 Degrees in Bachelors in field of multimedia, Animation and gaming. B.Sc. ( Multimedia) 3 years. Sc. ( Gaming) 3 years. Sc. ( Graphics) 3 years. Design ( Multimedia) 4 years. Design ( Gaming) 4 years. Design ( Graphics)4 yearsand two course in Masters. Design ( Multimedia). M.Sc. (Multimedia). First of all, There is separate Department Called Multimedia which comes under school of design III. This Department has well-equipped labs with high end workstations and it has gaming studios also where students can play and test the games on play station, PC and x box platform. Multimedia students of LPU has campus placements in companies like Amazon ( as 3d Artist), Rockstar games, Kony India, xentrix studio, Dq entertainment, Prime focus, Green gold animation and so on with maximum packages of 8 Lacs per annum and average packages are 5 Lacs per annum. After b. design in multimedia and graphics and even Masters degrees also. Faculty members are well experienced and specialised and everyone from industry having More than 8 to 10 years of experience in their respective field. Everyone is so helpful and good mentors. Reality is LPU is always give platform of placement to students even they give soft skills and personality development classes also so students of creative field also do well in presentations of their work and designs.

Eligibility Criteria (Qualifying Exam): Pass with 50% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with English) or equivalent, subject to valid score in LPU-NEST or UCEED. For a candidate, who has not studied English as a subject, the condition of English may be waived off provided the candidate in his qualifying exam has studied in English medium. HI Anurag, You have chosen a right career. If you really wish to become a video game developer and a big name in the same gaming production forte. Then you can proceed with 4 years degree programme. At various Universities it is called with a different programme name. # But be careful, Few Colleges offers Multimedia and Animation. They will try to make you fool by depicting this degree as Gaming degree. Actually there will be Subject in which their curriculum will do nothing with Gaming Degree. Being Education Consultant I need to inquire generally and I did so at LPU previous year. During conversation with one of their Academic Executive, I came to know that they are running 6 different Under Graduation degrees under the School of Animation. Out of those 6 separate degree two were of Gaming; 1. B.Sc. (Design-Gaming) 3 years Degree. 2. B. Design (Gaming) 4 Years Degree. Online admissions are in process at LPU, which means their academic Executives will be taking calls to guide the candidates. You can try calling them or visit their website. I heard they have relaxed their eligibility criteria for various programmes aiming to facilitate the candidates against COVID_19 pandemic. I hope this will help you.

There is a minor course in B.Tech computer Science and engineering, which used to teach you game design. So, there is no a particular course for game designing in LPU, if you want to pursue your future in that field. So, you can go for some good online courses and sharp your skills, else you can go for B.Tech and opt for minor.

It is not much good at LPU because there aren't many companies that visit LPU to hire students specialised in this field. You need to have passed 12th boards with a minimum aggregate percentage of 60%.

Admissions are going on, apply without any delay to avail benefits.
