Is it a good choice to pursue MBA in operations after completing B.Tech in production engineering and industrial management?

You can use MBA in operations management in following manners: Job: Mechanical Engineer + MBA (ops), it’s a combo most core companies looks for and if you are a male candidate. Brush up your mechanical concept, think about industry specific problem areas and which techniques and tools you studied are most relevant. Research: There are thousands of operational problems in almost every Manufacturing Industries (I have experience in textiles, chemicals and pharmaceutical, I assume other manufacturing industries are may not much different. As there are numerous problematic areas you can use your learning and skills to solve them. Very few people go for research so low competition, high learning and problem solving opportunities. Personal life: Most important thing I learned in MBA is OPTIMIZATION, you can use this everywhere for minimizing cost, to avoid delay, for multitasking, like finding shortest route or less crowded route while travelling, inventory management of your groceries, demand forecasting and number of other things.
