    Hi Milind,
I totally disagree on Govind_S's answer. If diploma had been the waste of time, our govt. is fool to serve indians for free since last many years. Even they do not have any plan to discontinue the Polytechnics. Success ratio if Diploma is too high and it has been noticed by many professionals, not only in india but in the world. If you certainly have a plan to go for Regular Degree, just go for 10+12+Degree. But do note, any Diploma can give you nice job. You just have to be focused.

Hi milind, no one is average no one is brilliant. so think postive just one thing is needed your dedication & hard work toward the things.so go for hsc and pass that exam.once you cleared it na.you gain a confidence which will stay till last breath .on the same time if any problem or you are willing to do diploma then go for it.yes you can go for b.tech also after diploma.so.do not worry.

Diploma in engineering is good only if you are looking for government jobs and small kind of job. Otherwise Diploma is a wastage of time as you do not save time in engineering programme too. When you do HSC, you may change your mind later on whether to pursue engineering or not but once you opt engineering Diploma, you are away from such option. Also, you have little or limited option for lateral entry into engineering after Diploma compared to HSC.
