Is it good to pursue bachelors in multimedia and animation? What are its career prospects?

Angel, If you're creative, you can always consider going for Design and Animation. This is a field where nobody cares for your qualification, they only see if you can do quality work. A good mentor and wise selection of courses with a good school, followed by diligent learning, would get you a head start in your career. However, you must check your suitability for this field. Animation is an art form and a very demanding career. It has ample opportunities for the creatively talented people. Opportunities lie in UI Design, Graphic Design, Storyboarding, Animation Design, Game Design, 3D Modelling, Texturing and Lighting, Dynamics and VFX and of course animation (2D and 3D). Of course at the top of the pile lies Concept Designing - these people are required by Event Companies, Animation Studios, VFX Studios, and of course Game Studios. However, choosing between these must be done after seeing your performance in each of these. So going for a generic course covering all or most of these would be the best way to get started in these careers. Typically you should have good sketching skills to be able to make a sound career in this (if you work hard you can improve your drawing skills tremendously). Hi, Nice to know your interest in the stream of animation and multimedia, In animation what is major seen is the work of the candidate and not the degree, whenever you send your resume in any company then before even opening that they would like to see the attached demo reel first and if the demo reel is good and your creativity is shown properly the second step would be resume in that also on the first page you would mention you experience and exposure and the second page would consist of your diploma or degree.So don't worry about it. and now the second point you should join the center after understanding about the course and the jobs available related to the same course, these days whichever institute you visit tends to excite you with the infrastructure, placement commitments etc and the name you have written in your question is a branded institute, but to be true if i have join any institute i would firstly check with the quality of the training and that could be checked only by meeting the faculties checking there experience, meeting the students personnelly and talking to them about the courses checking with what king of practical experience the institute is providing you with, by the end of the day whenever you would go for the interview firstly the company will check your demo reel and not the name of the institute, they will judge your knowledge and not the recognition that would come on the later stages. With this answer i am not saying that your don't have to see the recognition etc of the institute but just set your priorities and then decide. Hello Angel, Bachelors degree is required from a socio-economic perspective. Animation and Multimedia are skill oriented programs and qualification is secondary to skills for most of the employments. There are various Degree options available in the field in regular mode which includes B.Des, B.Tech, B.Sc, B.A. etc. Animation and Multimedia sector is amongst only few field providing you employability through skills with combination of qualification too. Dear Angel , now a days normally the 3 years programme ( Professional diploma / bachelors programme ) contains are 99% same , yes the certificate value is more for a bachelor degree ( universities approved ) and similarly the course fees are also quite higher for the degree programme , comparatively professional diplomas ( though the course contents are 99% same ) but price wise cheaper as they are not certified or affiliated to any universities . After the completion of the course , a student can build a career in gaming , animation, web designing, product modeling, ad media , print media , movie industries as a compositor or vfx artist , a photo editoid , print media and many more. Just imagine , starting up from very early in the morning , still you sleep, what ever you see , tv, news , sign board , news paper , hoarding , movies , serials , blogs , social networking sites, books , e learning , FM radio , advertisement , every where some one related to animation industry is involved to generate the output , its an immortal industry .

Hello angel,If you are thinking of opting for bsc. in animation its a very field if you are creative enough and have an innovatove mind.This is a 3 year programme.The scope in fiels is very wide as there is a very high demand of graphic web designers and animators in the market.There is even one more better option regarding this field only.There a no. of diplomas in animation which offer career oriented programmes and get you job ready within a few months.The minimum qualification required for these diplomas is class 10 or +2.The biggest merit of diploma is that it is of short duration and cost effective as compared to degree.Morever job offer in the market are on the basis of your skill.So,i suggest you to opt for diploma in animation.There are a no. of institutes which can offer you these courses.Some of them are listed below:- Arena Animation Mohali Creative toons All the best!
