    No, it is not necessary to clear JEE Advanced to get admission to NITs (National Institutes of Technology). Admissions to NITs are based on the JEE Main scores, which is a separate exam. However, NITs also consider JEE Advanced scores for a limited number of seats under their direct admission of students abroad (DASA) scheme.

    Through JEE Main merit you can get admission in NITs, GFTIs and other private colleges/universities accepting JEE Main score. So, if you do not appear in JEE Advanced after qualifying JEE Main you can still get a seat in NITs or GFTIs.
